into the wild
8.5/10
8.5 because i can relate to the movie, being in my 20's.
picturesque images of nature, choosing a lifestyle, stuff like that. 'based on a true story'
kind of like forrest gump movie, mixed with 'i am sam'. considering sean penn was the director it showed more so.
a movie that got good ratings on imdb but i thought was mediocre was 'once', had a good score/soundtrack, but the story was totally lacking. there was no build up to anything let alone a climax.

I've never heard of anyone that didn't like that movie. I honestly enjoyed it and thought it was fantastic. It's a more subtle story than what most people are used to. Instead of thinking it's a narrative, it's more of a voyeuristic glimpse into a life of two people for a week or so. There are lots of nice touches (no names, music integration) to the film.
Even at the Oscars this year when it won for best song, you could tell that every person in the audience had just HUGE respect for that movie.

There are so many people that are so wrong in this thread...
It seems you people like Alvin and the Chipmunks and War better than Juno and Eastern Promises. |

IMO 'lost in translation' is better than this movie aside from the musical part of it.

Beowulf - 6.5/10
Kind of boring, the monsters were cool but the animation was kinda retarded. Either make a cartoon, or make a movie. Same thing happened with Final Fantasy...

Either that, or under 10 years old. Or retarded. Otherwise, they are WRONG.

they're animated chipmunks with squeaky voices.
honestly how good do you think the movie can be?
but seriously, war, i agree was the most retarded movie EVER!
it's on the same category as transporter 2.
now, go watch that movie, come back and with a straight face; tell me it was good.
anyways, this is a thread about people RATING movies, not opinions about other peoples opinions.

but yes, people have different tastes in movies | Some people believe the world is flat, the sun revolves around the earth and that Rosie O'Donnell is attractive. Just because they think they're right doesn't make them any less wrong.

Gone Baby Gone - 8/10
Middle part of the movie dragged on a bit, but all around good performances and characters. Neat dialog and cool mystery to solve

But in a way, I think he did it for himself, to justify...
shit shouldn't talk about spoilers here huh

Shoot 'em Up wasn't supposed to be a particularly deep movie. In fact, it was supposed to be a cliche...but it failed to do even that.

Rambo (the latest one): 6.5 out of 10...being generous.
A mediocre movie but who doesn't like seeing jackasses get ripped to shreds? I probably wouldn't bother with it again.

Michael Clayton - 7/10
Some parts were REALLY good, some were pretty bad. So overall, 7/10 seems fair.
