Jumanji: 8/10.

Can't top the original. However, the pacing of the movie and with The Rock in it was entertainable.

Bright 8/10 - I loved it. Great blend of gritty cop drama and fantasy stuff. Well done story and good pacing. Good action and violence. Not too cheesy yet maintaining a fantasy feel. I hope they continue to expand the universe with a sequel or spin-off.

Fine for a direct to cable movie I guess. The world itself seemed much more interesting than this particular story. It might work better as a series of shows or novels. Will Smith phoned it in, just doing his "Bad Boys" character again. Jekoby was the only interesting character. Would have been better with anyone other than Will Smith's Bad Boys acting - even a more serious Will Smith would have been fine.

Jumanji 5/10. Not as good as the OG for me, not even close. KH obvi overacted as usual, the Rock was a bit boring prob cuz he was wearing too much clothing, the girl made a lot of "smell the fart" acting faces via Joey from Friends, Jack Black was the one redeeming quality about it - he was fun. Theres no urgency in this version quite like the first. Definitely could have waited for this to get on Netflix. Wish i didnt waste my pts lol.

Star Wars 9/10. Watched it alone today, loved it even if the asian girls acting was bleh. I fucking love BB8, hes sooooo cute. Loved the critters cuz im into that "so cute Im gonna die" shit. If BB8 had his own movie, i would pay money to watch it. I really want to start SW from the beginning. I only started from Attack of the Clones many moons ago. Im enjoying the franchise surprisingly a lot more than i would have expected as im getting older. If i do the whole thing, i feel like its going to awaken something in me and im gonna start collecting stuff lol. Cuz shit even the stormtroopers are way cute.

this one is on my radar, i'm glad your review is high as well as others.

Bright; didn't watch it yet but the reviews looks shit.

Survival family: Japanese movie + subtitles.

Japanese family of 4; out of the blue, the ENTIRE world doesn't have electricity for a LONGGGGG period of time (beyond days), and just showcase how the family comes together, breaks apart and re-learn life together.

Pretty good movie; a bit slow & could do a bit more tear jerking moments. Easy movie to swallow decent movie on how humanity deals with disasters. 7.5/10

The Shape of Water

8/10. Great storytelling and characters though
Spoiler!

Also, Cineplex rates this movie a 14+

Unless movie ratings have gone far more liberal than I remember, this film should be rated R

Baby driver - 9.5/10

Loved this movie despite Kevin Spacey. Fun and original, great soundtrack (Hocus Pocus by Focus is epic) and stylish editing. Not sure if I think syncing the gun shots with the music is cheesy or the best thing ever.

Missing 0.5 because I don't know if I'd wanna watch it repeated like my othsd favourite movies e.g. Fight Club.

All Eyez On Me 1/10 - Absolute trash. I felt like I was watching a TV drama after school special. Someone was trying to cash-in on the success of Straight Outta Compton and it fell flat on it's face. Shitty story, terrible acting and actors they chose were laughable(the Snoop Dogg scenes were like WTF?), flow was weird, the focal points for the movie were poor, the list goes on. Demitrius Shipp Jr did resemble Tupac Shakur in the appearance department but the mannerisms seemed forced and overdone. Awarded 1 point for the soundtrack because that era was high school church for me.

The Last Jedi 8.5/10 - It was what I'd expect a Star Wars movie to be. I liked The Force Awakens slightly more only because it was new and exciting and this just relives that excitement. Good action/effects throughout, good pacing, acting was fine, humor was acceptable, story was decent. I enjoy the universe and all the species they create so it's just a fun fantasy movie if nothing else. Wife really liked it too and she's no SW person at all. Sometimes the acting and drama/suspense seemed overdone or excessive and at times it came across a little "teeny bopper" for me but I suppose it's marketed to kids so.......

Shot Caller (Netflix) 9/10

Really enjoyed this film. Great casting and camera work. You feel the intensity of the prison scenes like you’re there and the main actor (Jamie Lanester from GOT) plays the part to a T. Loved the twist at the end. One of those you’ll probably only watch once, but you’ll enjoy it. The violence is gritty but realistic, complements the overall pacing and colour tone of the film very well. Didn’t care too much for the actress who played his wife, otherwise def worth a watch.

The Shape of Water 6/10

dvdscr leaked, the concept was interesting but i was confused with the nudity scenes, more or so it reminded me of Splice with the alien but filmed in the 1960's era.

I have to agree.

Concept was interesting as they needed the old school 1960 premises; Guillermo del Toro did a good job (who also did Pan's Labyrinth & Pacific Rim). With Pan's Labyrinth with great tension and suspense. Shape of water lacked a strong screenplay; movement, actions, expression were decent, but dialogues of the characters were mediocre at best. Casting was superb with B list actor and actress. (Octavia Spencer, Michael Shannon and Richard Jenkins). Antagonist Michael is always legit esp in this movie.

When you're doing 'romance' when an alien, you forgo human expressions and when your dialogue suck balls and Sally Hawkins has limited ways to express herself. Then you're really walking on thin ice which is probably the reason why.
Could've been a lot more. Directing was good, lighting was good and so was the score. Other than that it was maybe a 6-7 /10 at best. Not worth a second watch / recommendation for me.

*nudity was not needed, sex scene (only 1 was also not necessary) in the movie nor any la la land type theatre dance.. wtf.

I, Tonya was epic.
9/10
Costume, cast, music, expressions, dialogues and characters were pretty cool. It wasn't just a movie, they made it like a documentary as well using the 4th wall. (like Deapool) Story unfolded nicely as if it was an 80s movie.

I don't much about Tonya, so it was interesting to see the movie. Not sure how 100% accurate it is.

Margot Robbie didn't use her tits, didn't need the fancy makeup, it was all her acting. Solid job as a lead in the movie.

Allison Janney who played her mom was epic. Totally a bitch and played it well.
