Have you watched the web series that came out a while ago called OCTB? It's also on Netflix oddly enough. Not bad in the sense of nostalgia as it's based in the 80's/90's and has a bunch of the dudes you would recognize playing triad members from back in the day including Mountain Chicken. As for the show itself yea it has some brutal acting by some noobs among other things but with Chinese shows and movies I usually come to expect that. |
Chasing the dragon was a bit of a BS. I actually watched the first (2 part movie) by Andy Lau called Lee Rock. Amazing movie. It's the whole story of Lee Rock. When they came out with Chasing the Dragon it was a bit BS (I am pretty sure it's more a fashion show movie for Andy Lau more than anything). All in all, very nostalgic for me that's all. OCTB was decent, I am just not used to seeing low budget Chinese drama anymore; but yes, great 80-90s feel and good 1st season. |
Black Panther 8/10 Beautiful scenes. Awesome action. Memorable characters. This is one of the few movies that I'll be watching in theatres more than once. |
Black Panther - 9/10 |
black panther 8/10 my only complaint is that the end fight looked too cgi |
Blade Runner 2049. 9/10 -great cinematography. -good soundtrack. -decent story. |
black panther 7/10 - fuck the hype,it's just as good as any other marvel movie |
Justice League 5/10 Much better than I expected |
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri 9/10 Best film I’ve seen for the year. Loved everything about it. Only quib is I the ending left a little more to be desired. |
Black Panther 8/10 overhyped but good movie Wakanda forever bruhs |
Kimi no Na wa/Your Name - 9/10 -- plot/timeline messed with my brain. Lots of feels but good feels Coco - 8/10 -- Decent Pixar film. Not as good as Up. Sponge out of water - 7/10 -- It was okay. |
red sparrow was pretty good. If the theater speakers were louder i wouldve enjoyed the movie better. Story kinda had a twist to it. 7/10 |
Gran Torino 7.5/10 Clint Eastwoods character was pretty bad ass. |
So this black panther movie... Anybody think it was a propaganda flick? I haven't seen it, but have heard this.. Genuinely curious |

Also, just FYI, it was a friend who told me this, not the interwebz. Also, he's Japanese, not white.. In case that matters. |
jumnaji.. it was ok. 8/10 they modernized it; didn't relaly use the big boob & blonde card too much. Kevin & Jack were just as awesome as the Rock which was pretty cool. |
also saw Jumanji: welcome to the jungle...i'd give it a 6.5-7/10. something I would only watch once. |

8/10 The movie was VERY well cast - everyone is likeable and just feels right. The only minor exception for me was the guy who played the main villain. He comes across as kind of a tryhard and his acting was pretty bad. Like all other Marvel movies, the CG was noticeably bad and was distracting at several points. I can see why it's a significant movie to a lot of people. There are definitely some heavy handed messages in there, which is why some complete fucking moron might think of it as 'propoganda'. But guess what, movies can convey messages. The post credit speech by T'challa was AMAZING and IMO should be heard by everyone. It really fits into the philosophy that I enjoy following, inspired by "WE ARE ALL ONE" And FYI it doesn't matter one bit what race your buddy is who said the movie is propaganda. Anyone can be a racist asshole or even simply not intelligent enough to understand things in movies. Yes even Disney action movies LUL |
