holy fuck. legit movie. Decent script, CGI was done ok for HKstandard. The Spain scenes was done really well. It wasn't just a nice setting, they used it well. I gotta say, 錢嘉樂 has always been a great action stunt man but now he's doing decent action choreography. (Ekin's Golden job movie, Cold War 1&2, Firestorm, Triple tap.. the list goes one....)

Filming and the lighting at the last 1/3 of the movie was done well in HK standards. Acting was good, Louis Koo has surpassed Andy Lau and 張家輝 + 吳鎮宇 had some decent emotional scenes which has been really rare. (I honestly havne't seen Louis cry in any of his movies).

You don't need to watch any of the previous series. Decent movie to watch 8.5/10.

This movie is amazing. Made me think twice to mess with alligators.
It is also quite aspiring as the movie progresses.
8/10

THIS MOVIE IS FUCKEEEDDDDDD UPPP.. Can't even place it in any genre: funny, suspense and dark which is why it won Cannes Festival 2019 (1st korean film to win)
VERY weird trip + crazy gripping script + suspense to odds and end.
Director was the guy who wrote the script (also directed The Host & Okja (Tilda Swinton was in it / on Netflix)

You can watch the trailer, but FUCKKK me, it's only 10% of what the movie is about and 90% of the shit you can't even explain. The dark /comedy style is similar to the Coen brother but the formula / script / is linear, Parasite's will take you to a totally different dimension (not fantasy wise).

If you are seeking a good script + dark comedy + unexpected twists +jumping between genre and a hell of a ride, you gotta watch this. I have yet watch a film that's so weird like this 9.5 /10

wasn't the greatest korean horror film i saw,i don't remember where i discovered this film called "i saw the devil" but it had me like god damn, this is such a dark film and the action scenes are top notch certain scenes....think saw series meets killer + his friends..loved this film as much as "Train to busan" too.

^ now you got me intrigued, will go check it out.

*edited

watched it;the international unedited version. Yes there was a lot of gore and really crazy gut wrenching scenes. Both of the actors are pretty famous now; esp. the dude who played in GI Joe (Storm Shadow).

It is an older (2010) so I'll give it some slack; some of the plot were unexplained which is ok; what I had an issue with is really the motives of the antagonist. All in all, quite an experiences, it's done well, but yes, definitely a bloody / gore film with a decent flow and story line. 7.5/10

korean action film called The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil

watching this film right now since Sylvester Stallone already bought the rights to an american remake.
so far like 20 minutes in its goods, the scene filming, gangsters are well done...not too cheesy at all.

its really entertaining,i really enjoy Asia films like these where its brand new ground vs some shitty re-hashed action cop movie that hollywood has overdone.

PM-ed you the link.

The movie was ok; good cop + triad type movie; some gore, some fighting, overall it was a good film.

One of the cultural thing you'll notice for Jap + Korea, there aren't too much of guns in movies. Also, i have no idea why but who the F still uses a flip phone; entire movie was all digital phone + digital cameras ahahahh. Even HK movies are all smart phones.

joker 2019 - 8.0/10

the preview kind of showed the dark vibe that was going on,but man oh man...soon as the killings start & fully unloads, its such a dark joker,it has connections to the future films in a way of story telling....

i don't know how the hell they managed to capture Heath Ledger's insanity for joker, but right near the end you will be reminded of him,i think you'll be quite happy with the performance and not think "What a shitty bootleg joker"

Joker 10/10
Second best movie of my life (First being "Good Will Hunting)

The cinematography and acting was superb. It brought together so much of the current political climate into the movie - discussing wealth inequality, mental health, childhood trauma etc.

then you gotta watch this. "The Outlaws"
same dude, same triad stuff, much more RAW. He's pretty stuck in the same roles (but as a cop), but heck, ride the wave while it's high i guess.

Joker 9/10 only because the first half had a bit too much dialogue. However, as the movie went on, I wouldn't have minded another hour of it.

Went to hope for “first blood to last blood” at the old hope cinema. Watching first blood in an old theatre with an actual film projector was Awesome.

After that watched last blood. 6.5/10. It’s what you expect from a Rambo movie. He was given a reason to get vengeance, and he got his revenge. If you want to see it, do it in theatres. You want to enjoy the crowd reaction to sweet kills

Peanut Butter falcon; such a sleeper film (low budget, non-hollywood film with zero recognition). It's suchhhh heart warming.
6 million dollars to do a film; the cast had no wardrobe , the score was really good.
yes it's shia, but the co-star, Zach is a down syndrome kid who also plays himself as a down syndrome kid.. was realllllyyyy good.
Dakota J was in it; but she's just too much of a shadow from 50 shades...

such a great movie 9/10

Gemini Man
man.. will smith...he's usually in a solid role.. but the script was just so shitty it was beyond stupid. Zero depth to it. This is Ang Lee's film so the action was legit, just... didn't really flow too well.

i went in with zero expectations and with tons of people bashing it; still... not worth the theatre watch...wouldn't even watch it again. 6/10

Watched this last night... still thinking about it today.

Appreciated the commentary on society and the human condition... hard to categorize the movie since it feels like it takes chunks from various genres as it moves through the plot.

If I had to say, this felt like a horror film... not about ghosts but rather about how humans can treat each other. Striking.

10/10.

finally got to see this, not bad to be honest, could have cut out about 10-15 minutes of dialogue.

I liked how they used every angle and wrapped everything up. Some humor here and there and few F bombs. I don't know how they did the junior version of sarah + john but man the feelsss to see them again.

They were advertising heavily on how it's fighting all sea, ocean, land which was decent. I'm glad they had solid ending as well as adding some touchy parts to it.

Had a tough time on why terminator had to "split in half"; then realized people were epic shitting on T3 where the female terminator could remotely get cars to self drive. Guess someone still has to drive the helicopters, planes and cars....

8/10

good movie. An interesting concept for sure.
I'm actually curious if this is an occurrence that happens in Chinese families.
Spoiler!
