Tigertail
did not like this movie
Acting sucked, character development was bad. I couldn't pin point any person who acted well. Producer + director + screen play was by the same guy; a bit green to say the least. Even if this was "based on his dad's story".

Even as an Asian person, I had a tough time keeping track of the timeline changes, let alone the different characters (during flashbacks) cause all Asians (mostly girls in this movie) look alike ahhhah

Compared this to akinwafina's The Fairwell; Lulu Wang, same age, only 3 movies under her belt, also director + producer + screen writer... The fairwell KICKS ass.

5/10

The gentleman
8.75/10

Took me a long ass while to watch this. Guy Ritchie has his own ways to make his own movie. I'm impressed on how this played out; the twists, the script, the roles casted... (well maybe not Michelle Dockery). All in all, one needs to be really good at understand british humor, guy richie's jokes, accents in order to really appreciate the movie.

Once upon a time in Hollywood - 7/10

Acting was good, cinematography was nice, but in the end virtually the entire plot and almost all the scenes felt like they were Essentially all for nothing? Lol

It makes a little more sense if you read the Wikipedia that references the actual events but if you don’t know much about Bruce Lee or Steve McQueen those would be completely irrelevant scenes

Agreed. Was very underwhelmed by this. Alan Yang has co-written some good stuff with Master of None, but this was no masterpiece. Just couldn't identify with anyone really (as an Asian as well with immigrant parents that divorced). Watched it with the GF expecting a waterfall of tears (She easily cries, even disney movies). Nope. not a single tear was shed. Skip this one.

Extraction: 6.5/10. Very mindlessly entertaining. Very poor storyline or plot.

The Gentlemen: 6.5/10. Pretty much opposite of Extraction. Very slow at times, with only a handful of entertaining parts. Decent story.

Tigertail: 7.5/10. Heartfelt story. The daughter's acting was pretty poor. No way in hell real asians would have such an open and honest discussion as they did in the car at the end.

The Hunt: dark humor/satirical horror. I thought it was pretty interesting overall. Similar movie to Ready or Not, but I enjoyed that much more.

holy F is right.. the daughter sucked donkey balls...

The whole epiphany came when daddy met up with "an old friend" hence the movie change 360 degrees.... was just gay ass... super weak sauce to say the least.

The Assistant
*huge expectations due to awesome trailer....

Ghezzz this is another one of those film who a) new director b) wtf are you trying to do c) great 88% on rotten tomato, high on my radar, huge reviews + trailer... and falls flat.

No climax, no music score or close to nothing, not a huge presence of a story with anything interesting.

I can think of handfull of movies with great trailers but shit film; this one is boring, uneventful, monotone; thank goodness the actress did a sold job. Sadly, she's still a bit green and couldn't save the film from anything worthy.

3/10

Bad education, based on a true story. I thought story+ cast + casting and everything else was superb. There were some tension and it was amazing to see a solid script. Sadly, the ending just didn't really come together with an ending which people wanted or felt worthy.

Sadly, it just fell apart and the very veyr veyr end. Could have been something.. 7.5/10

It is not that bad. Glad netflix picked it up. It's definitely better than Ryan Renold's 6 Underground cause that was just insane michael bay blow up non-stop with minimal plot.

could have cut out any character building during the middle and I'm so glad they didn't try to mimic this to be a john wick 4 movie.

oh.... there is one scene where they used continuous shooting (like 1917); no idea WHY they decided to do so... Was it necessary.. meh. Did it help.. mehhhh I did think the acting has to be spot on during the shot and it was good.
The supporting actor; the kid, did a good job to say the least.

8/10
Jesus Christ, we watched this movie last night. Fucking terrible, cliche after cliche. These 80's/90's style action flicks just don't hit the same anymore.

I watched Extraction as well after getting juiced on the trailer, but found it to be subpar. MAJOR plotholes and problems... like too big to even just ignore and be like "It's entertaining, who cares"........ and a super terrible line that stuck out to me as totally unnecessary and surprising in these times?

I'd give it 5/10 just for some cool gun-play scenes and driving scenes that get your adrenaline going.

Spoiler!

Interstellar

Was highly praised by a coworker.

7.5/10

The music makes this movie so good, but the plot is batshit insane.

I personally, enjoyed Arrival more, and there are strong parallels between both movies.

Saw it in theatres, it was lots of fun.

All the actresses did great but Constance Wu's voice drives me nuts (in a bad way).

I usually like Constance but I felt the same for this movie.

I don’t know if it’s because she’s opposite J Lo but I found her annoying in it.
AND, what the FUCK was up with the fucking bangs? It was driving me crazy the whole movie haha

Oh yes it was lots of fun but I’m glad I didn’t cave and pay for it in the theatre for sure lmao!

The Greatest Showman 8/10
- feel good musical to watch during these depressing times haha soundtrack was great, nice to see Hugh Jackman not just screaming + slicing n dicing things

The Chef 8/10
- another feel good movie on Netflix, solid cast (Jon Favreau, Sofia Vergara, Robert Downey Jr.) good comedy

No Country For Old Men 6/10
- had higher expectations for it, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin did amazing, but never got into the plot

Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani aren't going to win any awards; it's a rom com for now and it's better than nothing.

Chemistry is ok... the script is pretty much a joke cause a) everything is at the trailer. b) it's all the writer's fault for crappy jokes c) with a budget of 16 M, you ain't going to get the best script writers.

if "Always be my maybe" is a solid 8/10 (Keanu + soundtrack + #tbt + good jokes), this would be a 6/10.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle - 8/10
A nice, fairly light action/comedy with great acting and a plot that kept me wondering what would happen next.

Jumanji: The Next Level - 8/10
Again a fairly light action/comedy with enough changes and twists to stay unpredictable. The whole cast is great but The Rock and Kevin Hart did an especially stellar job. Watch part of the credits as there's a bonus scene.

Sundance winning movie; documentary style "movie", but it's also a true documentary. It's really weird in a way seeing how the things unfold.

Didn't really think there was a climax, however, the story was ok esp. the beginning. the last 1/4 fell a bit flat.

All in all, it's worthy of a good movie to watch if you have time to watch a foreign film even though it's mostly english.

7.5/10, it would be higher if the story played out better at the end.

Bloodshot.

For me 8/10.
I love Vin. Movie was filled with action although the plot was kind of predictable off the bat (-2).
Had the vibes of XXX, Wolverine, a little bit of Fast & the Furious all rolled into one.
