Just rewatched 28 Days Later.... must be some Mandela effect thing but I don't remember it being shot with a DV cam at 240p. Then again, before I watched it the first time, I thought it was about lady cycles.

Danny B has always been a legit guy to make decent movies. The 28 months later was shit.

Yeah, I like his movies. I just don't remember watching such a blurry movie. Maybe the last time I watched it was on my old Trinitron tube... at least the end scene was shot on 35mm so at least that was upscaled to 1080p... lol

Love You Forever (我在时间尽头等你)

Same old taiwanese love story formula, it's somewhat 1980s school type friendship then grows up; add a dash of time travel and scenes from Europe.

Formula is not that amazing but all in all, there was some chemistry between the two. I do like actors and actresses as they are better than any given ones from Hong Kong.

7.5 / 10 Decent romance, just not an amazing script at the end.

holy crap, the cast was truly amazing.

Director: Aaron Sorkin WROTE: A Few Good Men + Charlie Wilson's War + The Social Network + Moneyball etc and director for Molly's game and then this one.

It's intense with a good roller coaster script and acting. Well done all around. It is a slower pacing movie as well as in depth tension. So embrace the ride. The ONLY thing why it didn't do so well is because of the ending. I was hoping to have a much better ending or a sense of WOW and it really didn't happen. Aaron does a great job with Money Ball + Social network and it worked well, just didn't do so well in THIS movie.
EVERY SINGLE actor was EPIC, who was the BEST was Mark Rylance, you might not recognize him but he did win a few awards in Spielberg's Bridge of Spies (2015)
everything was strong 8/10, just overall ending didn't flow for me.

Unhinged. One of the "biggest" film to be released during COVID which surprisingly made their money back. 33M budget, earned $40M.

crazy driver that went above and beyond, typical Hollywood movie. I am just BLOWN away he put on 63lbs for this shitty ass movie / role.

Movie was actually had a good flow to it and it worked well, typical a+B = C formula and all in all a great steamed movie. Russell did a decent role given the what he had to deal with.

No costume needed, not too much hair and make up to be honest. Could've just wore a body suit for the role.

8/10 cause he script and edit was decent (during covid and lack of movies).

Watched it last week and enjoyed it as well. I didn't see a problem with the ending though. Most people will likely look up the facts afterwards anyways.

Spoiler!

Just watched Borat 2, releases today on Amazon Prime... there’s some great stuff and a few things that will make you turn away from the screen they’re so uncomfortable but man did he troll a lot of people and the daughter was hilarious!

Still can’t believe they trolled Rudy so hard, what a sleazebag ugggghhhhhh Rudy’s daughter is going to change her name after this.

7/10

I agree Borat 2 was great, better than the first in fact. Very few movies actually make me laugh out loud, this one did.

Borat 2 - 6.5/10

I actually thought the first one was better. Still had a lot of funny moments.

The bedroom fight scene from the first Borat was one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life. Borat 2, while good, did not have a scene that rivalled that particular Borat 1 scene, in which case, is not better than the first.

That said, it was a brilliantly made movie with a very relevant ending.

borat 2

7/10

the girl did an amazing job playing the role.. she went above and beyond and being in character.

I have to say Sonick is right.. the 1st movie and legendary scene was by far the best everrrr (even better than team america barfing scene and stephen chow snot down karen mok's face" The second one was solid, a few wtf moments... but nothing as epic and not as crazy trolling...

korean movie which was at the VIFF. it wasn't bad. i didn't know why they needed it to be a cartoon, and then at the end, it goes towards a weird horror direction which you just can't use makeup and CGI to make it happen.
(eg// Tintin & Alita: Battle Angel were good examples.)

Script was pretty simple, but the last 1/8 of the movie, we all wanted to find out how it played out.

Premise: lady is fat, uses beauty water to look skinny, that's pretty much it.
not a bad movie honestly, 8/10.

Full subtitles as entire movie is in korean.

amazing acting between guy and girl, I didn't really care about Stephy, but she did do a decent job. Her last few movies she did make a huge improvement (Karate) from her old lovely dubby romantic. The male lead was superb, I have never seen him in any major movies at all but he's solid.

decent script, solid acting, some strong underlying messages around marriage, control, and a whole lot of shit. Can't say there is a huge climax or WOW moment, but legit flow of a movie.

I've been to the mall, understand the whole setup, so i give it a 9/10. (esp. on the entire cast)

8/10 for some. lastly, only nit picking part is how I KNOW they could have done better; Most of the time you could see the Stephy wearing the same ass shirt in 3 different scene which I'm totally paranoid about... who the fuck doesn't pick up on this and get them to change.... again.. super picky... which a lot of people wouldn't pick up on.

The Fallen (墮落花)

溫碧霞 / Irene, was once famous & pretty (17 yr old and was in a movie with andy lau & lesile etc) + some softcore IIB back in the day .
Now she's 54... can you please stop making movies please..... Your foundation is so thick it can be used as dry wall filler.

SOmehow she won best actress is some not so famous movie festival (Silk Road international film festival).

關智斌 (sort of openly known as gay), was suppose to have a sex scene with Irene which was on tabloids for a while. He used to be a singer as Boyz, and man.. his acting was just shit. Among everyone else.

It had so much potential; drug lords dies, his adopted son + blood line daughter with international kingpins all coming together asking for a piece; add in a bit of breaking bad....

ugh.. so disappointed. I do have to say, the cinematography was solid, well used of lighting / angles and framing... just a waste on a medicore script.

It's the director's 2nd movie, so major improvement from 1st movie (which no one watched; had chapman to)... 6.5, maybe a 7/10

USA Election

8/10

All the main actors played their roles as expected, the villain is super predictable if not over-acting/playing things a bit over the top -- think Nicolas Cage on a cocaine bender. Had some interesting twists and turns, LOTS of drama and red herrings, but overall am feeling satisfied about the ending.

Looking forward to the extended cut that hopefully shows the bad guy going to jail. Barring that, will start praying that there's no sequel.

holy F, super legit movie.
麥路人 = McDonald's people.
Aaron was in character, but because the supporting cast were just THAT much better. Filmed in a Mcdonalds; their famous jingle "i'm loving it", but the movie was called "I'm living it"

Extremely down to earth script regarding people at the lower end of the spectrum are living in Fast food restaurant. Supporting cast (楊千嬅 Miriam was OK, 萬梓良 + 張達明 was really really amazing).

Starts off with a Gen Y teen running away from home and finds himself with Aaron Kwok and adapting to wtf LIFE is really like. Everyone are tied together in a community at Mcdonalds and how they get by day to day. Not your happy go lucky story; the two supporting male cast were on point.

1st director debut, legit and solid. 8.5/10 Pacing was JUST a tad slow at the beginning.

i thought the most disturbing thing was the old guy at the debutante ball, when borat asked what his daughter's worth ...and said $500

the disgust shown by the old guy's daughter overhearing that... now THAT'S a daughter that will change her name
