Maybe I’m just a sucker for nostalgia at this point in my life, but that trailer looks pretty awesome to me!

Few funny stories:
- he did not expect food was catered and readily available but once you're working for those 11 hrs, there are no lunch breaks.

I went down the Tony Leung rabbit hole and I was surprised to find out that him and Stephen Chow were childhood friends and grew up together. That's a random pairing if I ever saw one lol, one is so extroverted comedy king and the other is introverted drama actor. I wonder why they never made a movie together.

didn't even the movie until i dug it up. #1 was really raelly good, #2 was sort of an after the fact which I enjoyed a lot too.

Was it perfect.. not really.. we are talking about a blind man here. Nonetheless; kept up with the 1st one for sure.

7.5/10

Dear Evan Hansen wasn't bad, really 'coming of age' movie. Perfect amount of hipster to be honest and really good to see some familiar faces. I wouldn't go watch the trailers cause it pretty much showed the entire movie. The cast was really solid. good recommendation; FYI, it is somewhat of a musical ... something like hipster la la land.

high school kid suffering from being a loner and deals with high school death of someone.

Great casting

Recently re-watched Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith together with the last few episodes of the Clone Wars Season 7 -- basically where Ahsoka re-united with Anakin and Obi-Wan. I was repeatedly switching between Episode III and the Clone Wars episodes to maintain a chronological order of events, and the 2 complemented each other really, really well. It also made Episode III suck a lot less, and Anakin a lot more sympathizable because he has always been a very well fleshed out character in the Clone Wars series.

Inside Man (2006) - 9/10
Probably my favourite heist movie. It's interesting to watch it a second time as you pick up on some more details once you already know the ending. I'm a fan of Clive Owen and Jodie Foster as well so that didn't hurt.

The French Connection (1971) - 3/10
I found it pretty meh as a film to just watch out of the blue, it felt like there was a fair bit of filler for a movie that's only 1:45 long. I imagine it was more exciting when it came out as it's based on a book from 1969 that was based on real events that happened shortly before. That context and maybe a bit of pre-reading might've made it more interesting to watch.

Top Secret! (1984) - 8/10
Similar humour to something like Airplane, so you'll like if you like that kind of comedy.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) - 9/10
The plot kept me hooked and the script kept me chuckling. RDJ and Val Kilmer were fantastic. I think I enjoyed it even more because I had no clue what the movie was even about so I had zero expectations.

On a side note it was funny to see two movies with Val Kilmer in them, in a row, by fluke.

If you like heist movies, check out HEIST by David Mamet... Maybe you have to be into Mamet's writing, but if you are, this is a 10 star movie. RIP Ricky Jay

Dear Evan Hansen IS an actual musical if you didn’t know already lol, it’s what the movie is based on.

Honestly probably one of my least favourite plays I’ve seen, the movie actually looks better than the rendition I saw

wow, thank goodness I didn't have to pay to watch this. Drive in theatre to watch 10 rings, then Free Guy was after. I can understand for nerds this would make sense but for someone who is non gamer, and not within the demographics, this would have been a major BS movie.

what is NPC, what is gaming, what is missions, why are sunglasses so important, what are servers.....
I thought it was OK at best.
Ryan R is just stuck in this type of genre now.

Thanks for the suggestion, I watched it last night and it was fantastic. Overall that is a hell of a good plot.

Spoiler!

After seeing Gene Hackman in The French Connection the other day I kept expecting to hear him ask someone about picking their feet in Poughkeepsie though

Either you are intentionally being "too cool for school" movie hipster or you're actually stupid in not understanding the premise but even my wife who knows nothing about video games understood the movie and thoroughly enjoyed it as did I.

A solid 8/10 very original and well produced. Highly recommended.

We rented the whole theater to watch it and my son who's 7 was so unhappy about the movie he spent a good chunk of it in the middle walking around the aisles saying omg this movie is so boring and visibly getting frustrated that he had to sit through this. I on the other hand was ripped so I was just noming hard on his popcorn but unfortunately weed didn't save the movie for me.

What's the last movie you saw and rate it...

No Time to Die.

9/10.

Daniel Craig’s last movie as James Bond, Agent 007.

A great movie film as a good send off for Craig.

Good action scenes, good storyline, decent acting, and of course, beautiful actresses in the film. Good character development of Bond in the film. Seeing 007 wanting to live a “normal” life.

Ana De Armas looks mighty fine in this movie.

Craig gives his best performance in this Bond film.

If you like Aston Martins, this Bond film
has plenty of scenes with the stylish cars.

Damn, you rented out the whole theater and your son walks around complaining and whining about how unhappy he is watching it?

Yikes

My buddy and I want to watch Bond and he's quite rich he was thinking to do that (rent whole theatre) so also curious about cost hahaha I guess if it's limited seating at a place like the Landmark ones in New West there might not be that many seats, just buy them all????

It’s only like 250-300 (possibly more if it’s brand new release) for Cineplex. Check their website there’s a price list out.

Thanks!! And here I am thinking it's some inside scoop ballers only info. Lol!!

Candyman (2021) 7/10 - As a fan of the original I liked the updated follow up aspect of it. As a horror it was ok, a bit cheesy at times. Decent story. Worth the watch.

Dirt cheap, $250 for new movies $125 for old, 20 people max.

mikemhg - Yea my 7 year old can't really sit through a lot of movies where there's just like talking. So during parts of the movie where it was just dialogue he was hella bored

white rocket - weed makes everything better right? I think if we were in a theater with other people I would have got angry but we had the whole theater to ourselves all 10 of us lol. Plus I was having a serious case of the munchies the whole movie, could not be bothered.

Indeed it does sir.

$250 bucks is stupid cheap for privacy in your own theatre. Heck, a night out for two adults in VIP including in-theatre dining and snacks is like $140 already. But for another hundo I can make it a private friends-only event for 20 people of my choosing? What a deal!!
