The crowd reaction to the reveal was pretty cool! If you saw the spoiler, you knew exactly what was going to happen, but it was a great combination of nostalgia with modern MCU crap we all know and love (and hate).
Green Goblin was amazing an enough reason alone to check this movie out.
One thing, I am surprised they made Peter Parker to hateable. Dude was a little fuckup, and basically almost destroyed the universe because of his selfish need to help others who were already dead. I know Peter Parker as a character is supposed to be immature, but this is the worst I can recall him ever being.
Also Andrew Garfield is by far the best Spiderman, and had WAY more on screen charisma with MJ, even in their short scenes together. I don't know if it's the height difference or what (Tom Holland is like 5'6" legit, 5'8" faked, and Zandaya is 5'10") but he really stood out as a better Spiderman in this movie.
It was a decent movie with a lot of callbacks. It feels like a different Matrix. The tone has changed. The fight scenes weren't as stylish as the other movies. There were cheesy moments, but I enjoyed the world-building effort.
Saw it in VIP. I haven't been to the movies since the pandemic started. They need to bring back the PSA to turn off phones. There was another dickhole texting in the row ahead of us. It didn't affect me, but the lady next to me kept telling that guy to turn it off.
I just went back and had to recap part of it.. I tend to doze off during prolonged boring action sequences (I recently tried to watch Winter Soldier again, but nope, fell asleep and couldn't make it through), and the last half of this movie is basically one long, boring action sequence. I thought I missed something important, but I didn't. It really was just that.
It was definitely the best of the sequels, but overall it's more proof that they should have just stopped after the first, as that was a true movie masterpiece.
the entire thing was predictable, those future scenes leaked everything that was going to happen.
it felt like a off-center alternate the matrix soap show, the Action scenes were weak as hell compared to past series....like holy they had no budget in this film.
Everyone's prediction this wasn't going to be good was right.
i'm just surprised this chase scene seemed like it had more budget than the entire film when they created a whole highway just for it.

Lol, that 100% would be me for sure. I hate that shit, I have no problem telling people to put their phone away or stfu if they're talking none stop.

A decent story that takes a political angle, something different compared to your typical post apocalyptic movie. But I wished it was executed differently and not a satire. The comedy just didn't hit with me. 75% of the movie was pretty boring and I caught myself dozing off a couple of times.
Certain characters were just straight up annoying. Jonah Hill really didn't need to be in the movie at all. Seems like he plays the same character every movie his jokes are teenage demographic.

I think Jonah Hill's character was supposed to be Donald Trump Jr. to Meryl Streep's Donald Trump. Anyways I watched it too and thought it was decent although shaking my head at all the supposed "absurdities" even though they seemed pretty plausible in today's world.
Not really sure why I jumped into this. I like Jimmy O. Yang in general and I really enjoyed his standup (on Amazon Prime). Maybe I was just curious to see how he does as the lead in a movie. He was alright, but the story was just not very good and the movie was very predictable.
I didn't have high expectations, but even for a Christmas RomCom, I was a bit disappointed. The events that happened felt very rush and not plausible at all. Just forced events to make the situation escalate worse and worse.
Overall, it wasn't really funny either, and many moments of cringe.

Matrix Resurrections 5/10 - If it wasn't for the nostalgia points it earned, the movie itself would have been a complete 1/10 piece of garbage. The special effects were TV movie quality at best. Some scenes came off decent and I hoped for the quality to build up, but then it just kept falling off and coming across as low-budget on every level. Effects, production, acting, writing; everything just seemed shit throughout most of the movie. Not that I expected a masterpiece by any stretch but this was so terrible I'm almost a bit mad about it.
I watched the first 3 Matrix this past week in preparation for Resurrections. I saw the original years ago but didn't recall a single thing, 2 and 3 I watched for the first time. Even within a movie, it was like a bunch of unrelated short stories. The Morpheus character is unwatchable, over the top bad.
When they came up with the metaverse, were they thinking Matrix? Samt thing, right?
Don't look up 6.5/10 I liked it cause all of you gave me a heads up on what to expect.
Who the characters played / portraited in real life made it so much fun to watch.
Overall the script is a bit different and having this type of ending was quite unique than regular hollywood ending. Totally turned my brain off and it was just fun to see the characters play out.
I enjoyed Don’t Look Up… scariest part is that although it’s meant to be funny, it’s a decent representation of what’s really happening or could happen to us!
Question: in Ariana Grande’s song, does she say “turn off that shitbox news” or “turn off that shit Fox News”? Personally I think it’s the latter.

I found it rather agonizing to watch. The cast is a complete Hollywood pick-a-person-from-every-race type of dead. The "heroes" themselves are pretty useless for the most part, uninteresting in many ways, and agonizingly stupid in some other ways. The pace of the plot was too slow for a movie, and the plots twists were a long stretch.
The only thing good about the movie was the SFX. It is no wonder that the director got sacked after this first attempt.

It's shitbox news. I actually enjoyed the song quite a bit. I like how they switch it up in the 2nd verse to get straight to the point, lol.
One of my highlights from the movie, in an otherwise, a movie I didn't really enjoy that much.
Was a solid marvel movie dunno why all the hate. was it the gay kiss?

I think you got it right the first time.. "Solid Marvel Movie". People are getting fatigued by super hero movies that follow the same basic formula
Iron Man came out 14 years ago! They've been releasing movies along those lines for all that time! 27 movies so far! They started out with 6 each year, and this "phase" will have 11.
"Solid Marvel Movies" can be enjoyable, but are never more than a 5 or 6 out of 10. Maybe 7 for a "better than solid" one like Spiderman because of the cool gimmick.
7/10 for Eternals, honestly it wasn't better or worse than Shang Chi for a spec Marvel movie, yet Shang Chi gets a ton of praise? I think people already decided how they felt about the movie before watching and looked for things to nitpick.
