In my experience with the glasses, theatres never have the projector light set bright enough, so the shaded glasses make it look really dark. Also they use shitty cheap plastic film as lenses, so take away a lot of clarity.
I haven't been to a 3D movie since Miles Morales, because it kind of ruined the movie for me (that and the hot dog I ate that made me sick for the next 2 days). They make for good 10 minute thrill rides, but a 2 hour movie no thanks
At the same time, the immersiveness can be really cool *shrug*

^ so your first comments there is exactly how I always felt with 3D, but imo, avatar was wayyy different and worked very well. I never go to movies though so maybe this is just the new standard

I've been putting it off but maybe I'll check out Avatar 2 then if it's that good. I skipped the first one despite the hype but kind of always felt FOMO over it. Busy week coming up with CNY so hopefully it's still in theatres after that

Like I said before, I tend to avoid 3D at all costs because it often gives me a headache and the effect doesn't add to the movie whatsoever. However, Avatar 1 and now 2 are the only movies that I actually enjoyed the 3D. If you end up watching it on a regular screen in 2D, you're really missing out on the experience.

Season 1 is based on the book by the same name, the 6 episodes play out sort of like 3 parts of a book and the story is really interesting. Things changed a bit for seasons 2-5, it's less serious but still good plots and more action. Then another change for seasons 6-8, less serious still but it's written that way so it works. Lots of action, and some episodes that are pretty heavy. | Great timing as I just got Crave subscription over the holidays so some binging to come!

Letterkenny might not be everyone’s cup of tea right off the bat but my advice is to stick with it. My wife wasn’t a fan at first. In fact she couldn’t stand it but now she loves both shows.

Just watched Avatar 2 in HFR 3D, the 3D was amazing as expected. My eyes did get tired in the last 3rd of the movie. HFR feels a little funny, a bit video-gamey, but I get why he used it especially underwater/flying. Regular feels like those scenes would be too filled with motion blur.

Watched the menu last night
In terms of these weird movies with twists and turns where you don’t know where it’s going f to go it was pretty entertaining and one of the better movies from a streaming service I’ve watched in a bit
7/10

Watched the original "The Fast & The Furious" last night. Brought back a lot of old internet memes and had good laughs at things like Danger To Manifold, Too Soon, Junior, and "NOOOO MONICA" etc. My wife had never seen it before.
Not sure what to rate it, so 10/10 for good laughs.

Thinking of watching Avatar in theatres.
What version should I see, IMAX+3D or HFR+UltraAVX+3D?

I liked HFR because of the water/flying scenes but my eyes did get tired by the end. Either way, must watch in 3D!

Just watched Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on on D+, and I'd give it a 4/10 score too.
I get that Chadwick Boseman left some very big shoes to fill, and unfortunately, none of the actors/characters were able to fill the void left behind by Boseman/T'challa. Nobody stood out. The Queen had flashes of brilliance and that's about it, as had Michael B. Jordan/Killmonger. And the way the director wrapped up the Queen's arc by not showing what actually happened was thoroughly disappointing.
A lot of aspects about the movie made me feel like the actors/characters were all trying too hard to impress the audience, and yet they have still failed to do so. And I don't know why all these rumours about Riri Williams/Ironheart's sexual orientation / identity are flying around because it has absolutely nothing to do with the storyline.
Too many things didn't make sense. The movie was too long. Quote:

I actually wasn't a fan of Black Panther the first movie, and I didn't bother watching the second.
From the clips I saw from the second film, it looked utterly ridiculous. Spears for weapons? So they're literal spear chuckers, the most "modern" civilization on Earth? They use drums to open the shield into Wakanda?! Are you fucking kidding me? They ride rhinos and shit into battle?! A futuristic African society?!
If that movie was directed by a white guy people would've been PISSED. The Black Panther films are literal blacksploitation in my opinion, completely tasteless and simple pandering in an attempt to "Africanize" a mythical society through the eyes of an American clearly not from Africa.
Guess what, African armies don't use spears and goddamn clubs, they use the same modern weapons of any other industrialized society. I never understood the boner some people had for the Black Panther films, as I black man I found them insulting.
Imagine you made a film about some advanced Asian society and they used chopsticks to steer their ships and click buttons
Fuck outta here with that shit.

To add, they honestly should've just re-casted the Black Panther as well.
Big mistake on their part by not doing so.
Either way, they're not getting me in the theater again to watch Africans riding rhinos and elephants into battle while throwing goddamn vibranium spears.

When we were away on our trip my wife and I kind of picked away at a lot of the marvel universe trying to watch them in order
Imo the most entertaining movies are probably the guardian movies and then like the Infinity war/end game duo.
In terms of one off marvel characters though I think my favourite it probably Thor after watching them. Which I wouldn’t have thought prior to watching a good chunk of them
