The movie is mostly BS and the guy behind the org has left and started a new org because of claims of sexual misconduct.

Tim Ballard, whose tales of going undercover to rescue children from international sex traffickers inspired the box
office hit “Sound of Freedom,” has been accused of sexually assaulting five women who joined him on his sting
operations.
In a lawsuit filed Monday in Utah, the women alleged that Ballard would “manipulate” them and coerce them into
sexual acts as part of his trafficking rescue missions via Operation Underground Railroad (OUR), the nonprofit he
founded.

what a slow paced crap b list movie.
Directed by Grant Singer (who also wrote it maybe that's why) it always seems so good in your head but not good when the movie is out.
Benicio Del Toro - has no emotions at all. Same for Justin Timberlake. Wow, where has Alicia Silverstone been. Last big movie I saw of her was Batman & Robin
1997 which Arnold was in. Well she's 47, she kept up well, definitely not as skinny as before.

slow paced, some type of drama, the thriller just wasn't as epic at all.

5/10

got tickets to see this tonight, pretty excited.

Nile + Orient Express were great with a twist / unpredictable ending which I couldn't figure out. Kenneth Branagh with his usual mustache, Tina F being in movies and having an asian Michelle Yeoh playing a "medium" yet her character is called ms. Reynolds.. LOL.

Kept it to style, couldnt guess who it was as always... I did guess what what they used and why it happened, maybe only 1/4 of a clue. I freaking love Agatha Christie. These well produced crime mysteries are great.

pretty legit chill movie. based on a real story
About friendship and really hit me hard on this particular line about accepting responsibilities.

"My last trainer / boat captain took me off course having me hit waves for 4 hours"
"That was all on you. You trusted a guy that studied the waves and currents but have never sailed at these currents."

it's so true... sometimes we blame other people but 99.9% we are to blame.

Man these two ladies are old... and many said Jodi did a great job just being herself....

not a bad watch esp a lot of action movies netflix now are so epic boring.

Quiz Lady - 7/10

Solid enjoyable comedy nothing mind-blowing but rare to come across these days, a solid middle of the road casual comedy.

Watched this one last night, 8/10. Solid film, I've followed her career to a degree, woman is a bad ass.

The Killer - 8, maybe 8.5/10.

New movie from one of my favourite directors David Fincher.

A lot of callbacks and vibes to Fight Club, humorous at times, some brutal violence.

Definitely needs a few more rewatches but a solid David Fincher movie.

not bad, not based on a true story.. middle part was meh. The end was ok so all in all it was a decent watch. Sarah and Akawaakwawfina both produced it as well. *surprise guest at the end which was bittersweet.

wow another car racing movie in hk.
lead guy - from china can't act at all.
it was just nice to see people racing in HK but man some of the CGI was a joke.
decent cast just i can't stand all fake CGI for racing at the beginning races in Macau and then in HK.
速戰 - 0/10

super legit movie, made and produced by china based on a true story.

林家棟 is the only HK actor and he's decent and legit. Led a few movies and won a few awares in HK.
However, when you pair him against the antagonists, 董成鹏 known as Da Peng (Chinese: 大鹏), he was epic.
From the 80s look + hair cut + rich business man, then when you see him 90s to 2000... super legit.. .very well acted.

90s bank heist - unsolved mystery for 20+ years... true story
Decent watch, it's not gun fight everywhere, nothing crazy but just seeing a person during the 20 years was pretty legit.

8.5/10

What a crappy movie. not exciting at all. Mr. I'm a well prepared hit man BUT things go wrong.... wth.
Go in for revenge kill.. kept saying anticipate don't improvise.... BAM.. did not anticipate shi*
slow paced, not action focused, more of a boring watch... 5/10
Michael Fassbender bearly had any dialogue.

68style 11-20-2023 08:14 AM

I watched Killer too after some friends recommended it... I thought it was decent, I was rooting for him, but he's not as polished or thorough as he purports to be and honestly I just thought Fassbender was not the right actor for this role. He doesn't have the right voice or demeanour.

Also there were way too many monologues trying to sound like they had something new to say about humanity but a lot of it just sounded overly pretentious.

this is regarding gamespot training....totally did not see this moving coming... thought the ending fell short and didn't own up to anything.

good premise.... 7/10.... could have been much better but then.. movie didn't have much side stories to pull along...

TMNT: Mutant Mayhem

Just got around to watching this the other night with the GF... I avoided it when on a plane trip recently because I knew she would want to watch it given she's an artist and the unusual animation style the movie is done in... honestly that's half the entertainment value is just how its a combination of hand and computer animation.

Besides that, it's legitimately a great movie with just the right amount of action and humour we were laughing out loud several times at some lines and the voice talent is dead on. Anyone who gets upset at "woke" stuff will have to get over the fact April O'Neill is a chubby black student now instead of a hot white girl in a tight outfit but even that is done in a way that the story wouldn't have worked without that having been the case.

Lots of easter eggs for people who know the Turtles history, you can see who some characters are going to end up being in subsequent movies, etc.

9/10 for me, great reboot of a franchise.

G0rilla 01-10-2024 12:00 PM

^Loved it, I snuck in one saturday morning to watch it at my parent's house cuz I got my dad a fancy new tv for christmas.

My mom came down in the morning and saw me on the couch, eating cereal, watching TMNT, shes like "WHAT? U still watching ninja turtles?!!"

Its like 30 years, nothing has changed hahaha

Killers of the Flower Moon (film)

Based on short of a true story, it was 3.5 hrs long... why?
I appreciate slow movies, with great plot, twists and character... sure.. but this was none of that.
Scorsese no doubt did a lot of research, blah blah blah .... so i give him credit on language, actual indigenous cast, costume, set, and music etc.... yet i can tell you no one will ever want to watch this movie which is also why it tanked at the theatres.

1) No tension what so ever... no idea why it took 3 hrs to tell a story and then 30 mins towards the end, someone grew a conscious and then somehow... ok..the end...

2) No one should be dumb enough to not realize oh there's a trend of murders... sure, 1,2... but when it's30+... you don't say that there is something funky going on.

3) Lily G was best actress.. was she that good? She was up against Greta Lee
Past Lives (also crap movie), Annette Bening @ Nyad was a good movie but too 'casual' of a movie to have won. Will watch Carey Mulligan @ Maestro and see.
Lily G did have a few good moments with her acting with her eyes; however, all her emotions made her look like she was just stone the whole time.

I honestly was hoping to have a dramtic scene, twist, of Leo and some type of contrast in the flow at the ending but NOPE. Yes Martin wanted to shift focus to Osage being 'winners'... What do I know.. i ain't 80 yr old director still trying to make oscar movies.

maybe the director's cut is 5 hrs long and there were some better acting there somewhere... too bad we ain't going to see it.

3.5 hrs ... wasn't expecting a cowboy gun fight ... but at least give me tension...

I feel like 6793026 would rather watch a movie like Expendables 7 as opposed to 3.5 hour long historical flick :lol

Take for a grain of salt on that review.

I will agree with him though, the film was a little long, I would've liked to see it cut back by 30 mins or so.

I still gave it a 8/10.

SkinnyPupp 01-11-2024 03:06 PM

Still a 10/10 movie for me, even though I'll never ever watch it again. It stuck with me for weeks, and I'll probably remember it for as long as my brain functions decently well

Yea it's one of those where it's great but I dont feel the need to re watch it regularly

6793026 01-12-2024 06:04 AM

Just wanted a good discussion - I can't recommend this to anyone as there's no re-watch value, not an easy to sit thru 3 hr movie, despite it already being a decent paced movie (for Martin S's genre).

Not comparing it to Sixth Sense or Shutter Island twist type ending (Martin S & Leo as well but I have yet rewatch cause its pace), nor will it ever be a pure cowboy movie.

Movie was great in some shape or form (I did like how it wasn't fully westernized with gun fights and paying tribue to Oscage etc)/ If my co worker / boss said.. "oh i heard it was good too... why was it so good so I can convince my wife to watch as well...

I would be speechless..

sonick 01-12-2024 06:43 AM

Fantastic production design, storytelling, well acted, and just great film making and direction.

Given its run time I would not recommend it to your average movie viewer. Hell I knew my wife wouldn't wanna sit thru 3.5 hrs of that so I had to watch it myself mid day during my xmas/new years day.

But if someone enjoys movies and appreciates good movie making and the skill of somebody like Scorceses, then it's a definite watch.

Hell I also watched Beau is Afraid over the break. Now THAT is a movie that I actually enjoyed but could NOT try to convince a casual movie viewer to watch.

CivicBlues 01-12-2024 08:25 AM

I just noticed the movie is up on Apple TV for free (well if you subscribe). I'll was humming and hahing about sitting in a theatre for 4 hours with ads. But I'll definitely watch it now from the comfort of home and a pause button.

how was Beau is Afraid? Just realized It was Art's who was the director -
Hereditary and Midsommar was pretty crazy and was really blown away on Ari's filmatography
