The Iron Claw 8/10

Great movie, devastating story. Went into it not thinking it would be that rough lol. But great acting.

Beekeeper - 6.5/10

Brainless action movie, not terrible but not as good as other ones I've seen over the recent years (ambulance, the new roadhouse, extraction 2)

Finally caught Dune 2, nothing more to add that hasn't already been said but I had assumed Glossu Rabban was a freaking bad ass but turns out he's far from it. Ah wells I didn't watch the movie for him but it was a bit of a surprise for me anyway.

Anyone but you: 5/10 basic romcom

Anyone but you: 11/10 an excuse to legitimately stare at Sydney Sweeney next to your partner for 105 minutes without getting into trouble. Also no homo but Glen Powell has got some aesthetics.

some people hate her, some are ok with her.
I still can't place what type of movies Sydney Sweeney would do good in.
She just doesn't draw as much of a crowd compared to Margot Robbie (who at the beginning didn't do much either).

Sydney Sweeney reminds me of Taylor Swift of acting, completely mediocre, with tons of haters.

I don't quite get it.

She's got a wicked rack though.

It' snot a bad film, a mute young adult living as a refugee and going thru the sadness of life.

won a few awards, just extremely slow with only 1 story line made it a bit tough to stay awake.

Did he need to be mute? Was it necessary to have such a slow pacing movie?

Very tough situations for these young adults living in fear. Ending of the movie, 吳慷仁 did a great job with acting his heart out but didn't save the movie. It was too slow for my liking and not enough tension to pull aside from just one story line.

Gundam SEED Freedom: 10/10

Wasn't expecting much going in, but it ended up being entertaining for all the wrong (but correct for the series) reasons.

Token black guy, token broken foster parents, token brown guy as comedy
Token new york ...
No one had any acting to do.. just stnad in front of green screen.

simple story line, simple cast, simply not worthy.

It’s funny Hollywood is so against AI when at the same time all real writers can do is make the 6th and 7th remake of old franchises that are long past their prime

I think her peak will always be Euphoria because while she may be an OK actor, that role was exactly what her looks portray lol

I do really like Ann H in movies; however this one was just a bit misplaced due to a bad script on when a milf falls for a rockstar. The chase portion wasn't as good or developed than I wished. Then there were parts which she just throws herself as if she was just a hooker. It's a standard Hollywood romantic movie so nothing much to say about the ending. I did like the part how they made her look a bit different from the beginning compared to the end so that was good; the final scene was good with the classic An teary eyes. The only part which I didn't feel was done well was the part of the break up which she looked a bit of an emotional brainless chick.

Gotta say, not a lot of people to be casted as hard ass female to lead a movie so J Lo was a good choice. Not even going to mention how bad Simu's acting or the crappy CGI cause those are a given.

Action is there, robots were a given and there were a few "revelation" pieces they try to combine together but it just doesn't add up.

No matter how good you are, it's going to be tough for an actress to act like she is falling for a robot.

All in all, i felt bad netflix felt like it had to put on tons of poster boards to promote this movie... it was just meh.

Movie script was crap, at least acting was decent.
All the characters were B / C line actors, (actresses were meh). This is a classic movie was black comedy with a 'sweet' ending. I did like the script being pretty good despite it being a low budget movie.

The final scenes of the emotional pull was good while keeping it light hearted.

Thought it was a brainless black comedy.

Can't wait to watch The Fall Guy tonight.

I don't want to movie shame the amount of movies he's watching, it's more the lack of quality

I'm in this thread cuz 679 and mike consume more media per week than I do in like an entire 1/4 year... I know what to watch from mike... and I validate my decisions of what not to watch from 679 lol... both are invaluable, so thank you!

holy crap.. such a loud movie. So many explosion and they try to make it work with getting some side story. I guess they did break even with this so that's good to see.

Chemistry with the two.. it was ok. The tension pulled by the two was weird but all in all, it worked a bit. Ryan G does his thing and Emily B always has the RBF camera face.
I did like the soundtrack esp the Taylor Swift music in the GMC van. BTW so many product placement - coca cola, GMC, BMW, motorola, and of course, TAG Heuer Carrera with Ryan G

Guess it's a rom com cause wife was happy to see, all i care was the explosions.
Never going to beat crazy stupid love and / a quiet place (Emily Blunt)...

the action sequence does seem like it was filming dune 2 lol. They did have all the stunts at the end during the post credits so that was ok.

Challengers

I doubt anyone here has watched "Call Me by Your Name (film)" but he also direct this.
It was Timothée Chalamet (dude who played dune) plays a curious boy with one of this best summer fling love story with another man. How crazy this was back in 2017.
Director - Luca Guadagnino

So fast forward, the same director writes a beautiful romantic, bromance with a homewrecker story via playing tennis.

The love tension is there, betrayal, the cheating, the acting all there.
Zendaya - i'm impressed. She was the spiderman story which was meh, she was in dune, which i also thought was meh, but man, in this... there were some in your face bitch moment, there were crazy sadness, jealousy, lust all wrapped up. Surprised she did well on her acting. No more baby girl role but a married mom + bitch + manipulating gf etc.

Josh O'Connor played a loser tennis player well. Not the pretty boy but the under dog;
Mike Faist played the good looking safe bet guy. Both were nobody i've seen in movies so it was a good breathe of fresh air seeing them act.

Was this a tennis movie, yes. It shoudln't be. It's a love story between 2 boys falling for the same girl over high school till being in their 40s.

The issue with this movie making it hard for all to appreciate is this a) the flash backs & the b) music with the dramatic tension.

I love how they used EDM music and pairing it with slow mo. Not once, but every scene in tennis, so it got just a bit too much esp. when they try to bring it to the climax.

The flash back was not just 1, 5, 10 years ago, but 1 month, the 7 days, then 10 years, then 3 weeks before. Yes they did a great job with the makeup, hairstyle, outfit and even with hair... It got a bit too much at the end.

Not going to spoil the movie - decent treat of acting with a typical Luca Guadagnino ending.

Worthly hidden gem; just remember it's not a tennis movie.
