Thank God this is the last one. I don't think I can take anymore of these crap movies.

Kelly Marcel did her first director debut in this; she wrote the 1st venom, then wrote + produced and now did all 3 - produced, wrote and directed.
Juno Temple who played a scientist... I thought she was playing a character say 45 yr old stupid scientist... then I realized she's actually 35... man white girls really don't age well LOL.

I really have nothing good to say about this one. Character sucks, development was shallow, they did end this well closing off the chapter. I sat there with minimal expectations and was ok the first 20 mins - caving in the bad jokes and story.
Then the antagonist / creature came into the picture. The fact the creature jumps from say a dessert and hop onto a 747 in a leap 30,000 ft and take down a plane.. come onnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Good for Tom hardy sticking it thru and getting a paycheck (cause he really really can't act. I do give him credit on decent roles eg// The Revenant, nolan's dunkirk, dark knight, inception, rocknrlolla...). Totally dismissible movie as there was nothing I admire in this last leg of Venom.

Please don't make any more. Please.
I wouldn't classify myself as a diehard Superhero/William type but pretty much just watch them all like most but for some odd reason I never got myself to watching any of the Venom movies just something about it just makes me so disinterested.

Venom is one of those weird movies like if I went to a theatre to see it, I'd probably be choked after... but I've seen them on TV randomly before and found it quite an enjoyable distraction. The way Hardy interacts with the Venom part of him had a cute "guy stuck with a really annoying puppy" feel that made me feel a bit whimsical about the whole thing lol

Deadpool/Wolverine was funny but since it followed the typical MCU layout it was, you know. About 30 minutes too long as well

Are they done with the multiverse shit now? It was funny at first seeing multiple versions of superheroes, but it got old pretty fast

They have to be done with the multiverse crap, people don't like it.

Having multiple universes removes any of the stakes -- everything just seems pointless, characters can be killed off and brought right back because "different universe", it's all just lazy writing.

They have to keep this going cause they are banking on Dr. Strange 3.

Yeah, at first the no stakes allowed them to do "unthinkable" things like kill top superheroes or make whacky versions of them (and references to comics and cartoons and even old movies) as a fun sight gag, but like I said, it got old real fast.

Close it all up with Dr. Strange please. I won't pay but I'll watch it because at the very least, it rarely feels like a waste of 2 hours to do that. They're usually surface level amusing enough to give them that much time along with whatever data it takes to pirate it. I still haven't watched the newest Black Panther though. I tried once but fell asleep

Which is crazy because I used to go watch every single one in the theatre when they came out.

Everyphone Everywhere.
Yes it's a play on words.
New director who wrote and directed his own movie; last movie was huge hit so I was expecting this to be decent too.
Finally found an outlet to find this unique small production film.

Premise - 2 guy 1 girl after high school grad - to meet up again after 25 years and have dinner. Day of - 1 guy forgot his phone at home, guy 2 - got his phone whatsapp phone hacked.

During entire time, guy 1 is trying to find a way to find address of this hidden kitchen but can't find the address. Has to call his wife and ask ..."err can you tell me my puppy love's phoen number" LOL.

Not a crazy script, just a down to earth, hong kong movie written about current issues about people using their cell phones.

Easy going, happy go lucky, decent ending movie. Very happy to find a light hearted movie with decent script.

Only version of the multi verse left has to be a full blown Xmen/Avengers series anything else is just grasping at straws with uninteresting filler characters.

Killer's game

wow box office bomb. totally sucked. Tried so hard to be like john wick and hten it failed.
30 M budget filmed in BUdapest and only $5.9 M. Dang.

Crazy how this script/book was back in 1995 and stalled 2004, then resurrected etc 2015. Time to let it goooooo.

Love interest part was ok, script was ok. but went downhill quicking right in the middle. Totally a straight to DVD movie. Sorry Dave Bautista just can't land a solid movie and even Terry crews couldn't save the movie. Sofia Boutella who was hte lead female also didn't really do much justice despite doing a good dance / chorography on her character as a dancer.

Based on a book written in 2022; can't say I love it, I didn't find out one thing that was unique, was the young girl who played the love interest - she's daughter of Takuya Kimura

man, how time flies. anyhoo
Weak script, but I have to say the love and chemistry between the guy and the girl was decent. she really did acted well just like his dad's acting back in the days.

long story short - John Lennon and Yoko Ono story - white dude works in restaurant, falls in love with the owners girl. The 70s japanese restaurant was done well, just the modern day 2022 character / love story didn't hold up so well.

amazing movie! BASED ON A TRUE STORY!!!!
Finally a legit movie.
first of all, from the plane to their seat belts to clothing... was great. what a great job playing the era as well as the make up etc... i hate it when one scene versus the next being totally different.

Yes, they made it a bit of a hero movie and of course it won't be 100% accurate; heck it's 1971.
My only piece with the movie is the unrealistic flying of a plane. They pulled a few stunts thinking they are flying a fighter pilot plane... It's a F27-100; even with only 44 passengers, not possible at all.

Great movie... i'm waiting for Andy Lau's version of plane hijack movie coming out.. let's see how it plays out.

Lonely Planet

Wifey time to pick, so chick flick it is.
Chris Hemsworth's brother was hte lead, no wonder it looked so much like him. I thought it was Chris when i first started.
Thought it sound track was great, the place where they filmed it was great (Morocco) (even though it didn't show much of it).

I guess it was ok for her age but watching a 57 yr old Laura Dern play the love interest was a bit weird. (she's the original lady who played Dr in Jurassic Park) fun fact, i didn't know she married Ben Harper for a bit.
Enough with these cougar films.

Very simple story, expectable script; just glad it ended abruptly and where it needed it to be.
Wish it had a bit more beef and who in the word doesn't back up any of their shit nowadays.

Director wrote and did the movie; Susannah Grant - she did Erin Brockovich which was light years better than this, even if it was a diff genre.

Finally got around to watching DUNE and it was fucking awesome! I'll watch part 2 tomorrow, and then start the HBO series . 9/10

Only issue I had is that there was quite a bit of dialog that is said in whispers you can barely hear. And I forgot to keep the subtitles for the remux

Won't make that mistake again

setting was nice, maybe minimal CGI, btu story was weak, casting was ok, but there was nothign memorable at all. what's all the hype about?
More proof that we have literally the opposite taste in movies

Have to have a good center channel speaker for Dune. And a good sub lol. I was shaking the place quite a bit during the Bene Gesserit spaceship landing.

Megalopolis - 1/10 -- I don't even know where to begin with this film, probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen, with a $120 million self funded budget by Francis Ford Coppola. Everything about this movie is plain awful, it has a star-studded cast that I wonder what they were thinking while filming this steaming pile of shit. I don't have words, I'm dumbfounded how bad this movie is. It kinda reminded me of the Simpson's episode when Homer made his own shitty car because no one pushed back on his terrible ideas.

This movie is the personification of that.

On a better note The Apprentice, the biopic of Donald Trump filmed up here in Canada. An easy 8/10, fantastic film that I highly recommend. The actors played their roles amazingly, I can't believe how perfect Roy Cohn's character is in this film, the actor is a spitting image of the guy.

I watched the 10 min of it and I was dumb founded... what is going on. Solid cast to say the least (dustin hoffman, Fishburne, Pollo chicken breaking bad guy ), Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia Labeouf... , then i sort of saw a weird New York backdrop and then Roman empire?

Thank you so much for burning the guy's future of financing a $136M. May he not make a movie again.

Free Guy [2021] - 3/10

It started off quite well but I can only tolerate so much fudging of how technology works and this blew way past it. I get that they have to twist things here and there for a plot but the last hour was just constant made up bs. The bits with the streamers didn't help things either. I probably wouldn't have finished it except I didn't really have anything better to do for the last half hour of my flight anyways.

Just watched Apprentice tonight... pretty good movie, the acting is incredible in it, especially Roy Cohn's character is absolutely impeccable.

The only thing I didn't like were the cheesy references to running for president not so much because they existed, I'm sure people said that to him, but the way they ere done so tongue in cheek like knowing it ended up happening.

Pretty interesting look into a pretty brutal dude though. If it's even 30% accurate he's one of the biggest assholes that's ever lived.
