lol.. i need something newer than that. i was thinking about the v8..any tips on that? he likes the v3 so i think getting the v8 would be a good upgrade ahha. |
anyone have any experience with the lg ke770? the shine candybar? thanks |
i need help! -How much do you want to spend? less than $500 (ideally) - What do you want to use it for? talk, music, camera, internet browsing (gps too maybe?) - What form factor do you like? not important as long as it's durable and scratch resistant with long battery life - Is there a certain brand you like? whatever's a good brand. i've had some nokias before. i'm a total noob regarding cell phones. i've been with Bell for 6 years and everytime i just choose a phone that's free with their 3 yr contract. but this time i want to get the newest and the greatest out there, even if i have to pay for it. unfortunately it'll have to be a phone that they carry, so it's a bit limiting. i don't want to buy a phone from asia (because that would be too complicated for me :D ) i'm thinking of switching to rogers but i might be able to negotiate a better deal with bell, so for now i'm staying. |
a phone that rogers carries thats what you want... i would say... k790 or.....i dunno. lol k790 has music, 3.2 mp camera, good reception, pretty durable and semi-scratch resistant with its rubberized coating. |

that would be *somewhat* ideal but yeah, like masterwoo says...if u switch to rogers, there are a couple phones that they offer, and ur options won't be so limited because there are tons of import gsm phones (not necessarily from asia either) though music, web browsing and possibly GPS...there wont be anything in the ballpark for u in terms of "good" battery life...chances are you'll have to recharge once a day or less if u're a heavy user |
The HTC Touch or HTC 6800 are pretty good choices from Bell I think. The latter will have GPS enabled on it, and the former you can easily hook one up via Bluetooth. The 6800 is their "TyTN" (codenamed "Titan" incidentally...haha) but is actually half a generation ahead of the TyTN 1 and half behind the TyTN II. |
oh..i thoguht we were talking about rogers lol. dont forget he wants a camera on it, im guessing a decent one too. |
eff the rest then, n95 ftw :p |
The thing with Bell and Telus is that the selection is rather limited, namely to the phones they sell. Greatest and bestest? Most expensive-est one would be a good start methinks. |
opinions on lg viewty? Thinking of picking one up..impressive 5mp cam & divx compatibility is pretty tempting |

never used it but ever since i used the prada ive generally stayed away from LG's maybe because some other phones ive used are of higher quality...but i find LG material to be "cheap" even at its finest. |
I've narrowed my choices down to two and it's hard for me to decide: Nokia 6120 or Nokia 6300? (reasons as to why would be appreciated too) I'm looking for a simple phone, around $300 or less, easy to use, reliable, durable, does a good job at the basics. If you have any other phones to recommend, I'd like to hear them too! |

I honestly liked the 6300 more. -Solid Build -Awesome screen -comfortable keypad The 6120 was nice, but it just didnt feel AS nice as the 6300 due to the all plastic body. |
ive used both and liked the 6300 a bit more too. aside from the fact that its quite a bit better looking (imo anyways), it just felt better in the hand. cant quite put it in words, but once uve tried out both i think u'd like the 6300 more too :D |
guys. So i sold my iphone. Now i'm looking for a newer better phone. I've narrow down my choices to N95 8gb or SE W960i I like the look of the W960 and its cheaper than the N95. But some function i like on the N95 -GPS -5megapixel cam -Gaming capablity -TV out and Earphone hole THings i like about the W960i -Build quality -ease of navigation (no hands on time with the fone speaking SE in general) -Looks -flashy menus the W960 lack those but i suppose its camera program is way faster than N95? How good and fast is the GPS on the N95 8gb compare to the original? my buddy has one and to my knowledge he could never get a position and the one time he did it took 30 mins of standing in one spot and disconnected when he walk to a bit of shade. How is the program support for both fones? I like to tinker with my fone. Which one would offer my programs, mods all the nerdy stuff? EDIT: I just read that lots of S60 apps need to be signed!!! that sounds like alot of hassle. Does the W960i have that problem? |
^oops? did u already get the n95 8gb? :p but either ways, i'd recommend the n95 simply cuz i was never a die-hard fan over SE's. Nokias, on the other hand, has never really let me down, and the n95-2/3 doesnt really look that bad compared to the w960i menus/ navigation...i think its all about what one's used to..im personally more used to Nokia's UI over SE's as well. |
Id say the N95 over the w960 as well. There are so many apps available for S60, once you start installing, you wont wanna stop. However Im in need of a new phone I think.. GAWD! Whats out there now?! Absolutely nothing.. I was thinking of going back to a p1i.. or even trying out the viewty.. GAH! Man S60 is amazing.. Why cant another manufacturer come out with something equally as good? |
Get a Sharp lol |
Nah I need something with more features than that I wasnt ever really a big sharp fan.. Although I went through like 4 903's :p:lol |

Maybe the HTC Tom Cruise (hahah), it's out now. |

The only good touchscreen thats good for texting so far to me is the viewty.. |
Not the iPhone? |
Ive got an ipod touch, and the keyboard is weird, sometimes I think im pressing a certain letter, but im hitting the one next to it.. I think its too sensitive |
who has the tom cruise? i've been checking around and the guys i get it from dont even have estimated price *coughjimmycough* i HEARD that texting with the onboard keyboard for tom cruise has been improved and is APPARENTLY easier to use now. im just waiting for it so i can settle down... for a while ahhaha |
You can always install an iPhone-esque keyboard on the Cruise (on the Tom?). |
