Anyone using their shaw account through rogers with the iphone? If so, what's your settings at for incoming/outgoing ips and such. I haven't been able to get my email sync'ed up yet. (even tried getting shaw's incoming info and roger's outgoing info but to no avail)
1.1.4 here
-Rik | What do you mean Shaw and Rogers? You talking about your Shaw email account on your iPhone and you're using EDGE (i.e. not WiFi) on Rogers to check mail?

Thanks for the info about connecting to wifi. It's usually the not ful signals that won't connect for me. Thanks.
As for the email. I have turned off my whole edge thing because I don't want to get raped by rogers for their data plans.
In the iphone itself I have the email setup for my @shaw.ca account but it always ends in an error message about could not connect to incomming server, etc. I'm curious what peoples phone settings are set to in their email setup if they have gotten @shaw.ca email to work.
Becasue I haven't I have to go to shaw's webmail web address to check email. It would be simpler if I could just find a wifi hotspot, click the mail icon and check email.
-Rik

You need:
- A functioning WiFi network
- A computer connected to the WiFi router (wired or wireless, doesn't matter)
- iPhone with only one SSH installation on it and connected to the same WiFi network
- Computer has SCP and firewall(s) allows access through port 22

Hey guys,
Speaking of unlocking, I did a search and found no info about "iPlus 2.0". How does this compare against "Ziphone"??? Both claim they can unlock FW 1.1.4.
I don't have an iphone myself but I'm itching to pull the trigger on one. Am I running a great risk using any of the above software to unlock the phone for Rogers use?
Please enlighten me!

ZiPhone is proven to work. iPlus is relatively new, but probably is just as good. I'd go with ZiPhone. It's easiest on the Mac though.
No big risk, really, I've been using my iPhone pretty much since the first zomgsh-terminal-UNIX-madness unlock, and with the firmware upgrades I've used different solutions too.

Anyone have a problem with auto-updated time and SMS time stamping/ordering after the DST change?
If auto-update (grabbed from the network), time is always an hour behind and my SMS's are 4 hours behind.
I'm running 1.1.3. Had this problem back in September too when I was on 1.0.x.

I'm on auto-update too, with time zone support on as well. Quote: Originally posted by Levitron I think he is referring to the mode when the phone goes to "sleep" after the auto-off is activated. | Huh, if that's the case, those phones are whaaacked.

I am pinning this on DST. I'm back on manual time, but my SMS's are still screwed.
