What to do in Vancouver? Ever fall into that dreaded lull of: "So what do you wanna do today?" "I dunno, what do you wanna do?" "I dunno, what can we do?" "blah blah blah" In the end just going for a coffee then go home since no one came up with anything interesting? More often then not I'm stuck without a clue as to what to do for the day and/or night with my gf and/or friends. So are things to do in Vancouver? I'm not interested in those tourist spots like Science World, Stanley Park, etc as I been living in Van all my life so that stuff is boring. We do all the regular things I suppose: We always go out to eat or eat at home; trying different restaurants and cuisines every week We watch a lot of movies, usually rent or buy movies too; Also shopping, driving around for a while, went down to the states a few times already In the summer we played tennis, now we sometimes go swimming. Seems like it's so boring nowadays. What do you do to kill time over the weekend? (or even during the week?) Any ideas? Maybe we can pool them here so we can look back to find things to do when we're absolutely bored out of minds and have nothing to do. Looking for something 'normal' that can be done even every 1-3 weeks. Not stuff like "Go do the Sun Run" |
I play with my JB :D That and I go for coffee (even if it's not coffee), everyday, it kills alot of time. - Shoot some pool - Arcade it up (if that's your thing, with the drums/racing) - Go Cruising (gas is exp) - Walk around, and "window shop" - Rent movies/watch movies - Did aquarium with the family - Work on car - Find an MMO to play - Work out - Smoke (if you do, just sit there in your backyard on a sunny day) Usually if you wake up around 12-1pm on weekends like I do, it doesn't take much to kill time till night. Which is when I'm out at parties, or ebisu :D |
you can email me back biatch ! lol .... I totally agree about the friends thing.. omg.. those are such famous lines... lol !!! hm... there are other things you can do...i think you should of bought the entertainment book.. - double date with us. - the tourism thing is not so bad bro.. I had tons of fun at the aquarium. - try a new sport - go jogging/walking (we did the walk from ebisu to stanley park, around stanley park and then ate ramen.. and then we had parfaits..lol) - picture date.. bring out a camera and snap some photos =) - Rent/Buy movies - cook together - Tennis - we went last weekend at QE - buy a bike and ride together - rollerblade together - hiking (i am always up for this) - walk along granville island - window shop along 4th avenue, granville, or robson - fly a kite? - walk along the beach - fishing - kayaking - white rock - mini golf - driving range - work out at the gym - climbing - Harrison Hot Springs I know alot of these are weather dependant... i do alot of cooking, eating, movies, gyming, walking, and picture taking with my significant other. |
hm I think i might just try the Aquarium thing ... so many of those are physically labour intensive haha |
I hate winter, sun goes down the second I leave work. That kills 90% of my plans. This might be your problem right now Can't wait for summer again, so many more things to do! What you can also do it be a tourist in Vancouver. Buy a Vancouver tourist magazine and visit all the spots. Rent a a two person bike, zoo, shop, hike. Someone suggested buying the entertainment book, I might even do that. |
every thing's so repetitive in Vancouver. so boring... |

but u guys have rooftops.. =) haha !!!! what better way to spend a day then to play vball on top of the restaurant !!! |
blaze and think about it... that usually ends up with something or the other that is interesting to do. anyone hit up the pink floyd laser show at the plantiarium? |
this is why so many people in vancouver are potheads. haha there's nothing else to do. |
or they're really lazy, i used to think vancouvers got nothing to do. then i went outside during the day, and there was plenty to do... haha we got lakes, mountains(hiking, sking, camping), theres always hastings and main to go around and mess with the junkies, soo many restaurants to try. it's nice at night just to chill, but daytime is for actually doing things fun. |

i find there are more things to do in richmond than in vancouver . you'll never get bored of bird-watching at the malls thats for sure ;P |
what else is there to do in richmond? arcade indoor gocarting walk along dykes malls - r/c is ok... lansdowne sucks - only thing i go there for is taco luis minoru park/ice skating swimming at watermania movies / bowling at silvercity golf or driving range indoor rock climbing (is that place still around?? ) next door is lazer tag (place still around?? pool at oscars or on 3rd.... rent movie from numerous rogers locations along with $5 hot n ready pizza from lil cesars |
Hmmmm...maybe I will try to put a little bit diary on this. Today: went for swimming and ice skating |
Doing all the sightseeing stuff. ie that Giant Clock by the water in West Van or some secluded place overlooking vancouver or the ocean |
invest in a 360 and a live account and halo 3 or cod5 hours and hours and hours of endless funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn nnn |
Save up and get out of here for a vacation, then you'll feel more refreshed :) That's what I wanna do :( |
