My first one, Triumph TT600

Repainted with new pipe after first crash

Totalled the TT, got an R1 later that spring

Race tracked the R1, needed new tires afterwards

Tired of the R1, got a 1000RR now, thats me with my signature asian camera pose

How's the RR compared to the R1?

Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

well the 1000RR is newer, its a 2006, and the R1 was an older model. My advice on that would be to never ever get a carbeurated bike. EVER. PERIOD. However, I have ridden both the 2006 CBR 1000RR and the 2007 R1. And my conclusion is that they are two completely two different breeds of machines. Depending on your riding habits and your turn-ons.

The Yamaha has the insane neck-breaking horsepower at higher rpms. And I mean neck-breaking literally. The downside of the Yammi is that it has a very touchy 1st gear, so if you're trying to maneuver in slow but busy traffic, or trying to get out of your driveway a little faster, make sure you don't go over zealous on the throttle, or else you'll end up in the rhubarbs. The upside is when you're at 5th gear, 8000rpm, you can twist your wrist a bit more, kick it into 6th, and you'll still get whiplashed. So its safe to say that the R1 is for the true speed junkie who wants to ride a high revving, two wheeled, weed wacker on crack.

Now, the Honda was, and is still my favourite. Eventhough it doesn't have the mind numbing top end, the acceleration is still impressive. It is very torquey, so it has the power to accelerate at any rpm in any gear, without any lagging. Which means, it takes less thinking and decision making for acceleration and decceleration and the rider can focus on how low to lean around corners. Another reason why I would pick the Honda is for its butter smooth tranny. Clutchless shifting on this beast feels seamless and even when you do kick it up and down through the gears really frequently, it still doesn't feel like it's confused as to which gear you actually want. So over all, I enjoyed the honda a lot more than the R1, not saying that the R1 is not an insane bike to ride, it does have the killer styling and is simply one mean ass machine. It's just that the honda suits my style better and takes less effort for me.

my two cents, cheers

baller guy and his sato rearsets.

I want some! Does anybody know where I can get them at a good price? Local or online? Most importantly, for a 09 Buell Lightning? (Buell parts seem to be hard to find locally)

^^ Sato rear sets will cost a pretty penny. Bayside has them for a decent price. Call them and ask if they can get them in. But does Sato even make them for Buell?

thanks justin, mine are Gilles Tooling, IMO much better quality than Sato's

local shop that sells Gilles:
http://www.oppracing.com/products/47-rear-sets/
not sure if they make for Buell though.

Turns out Gilles makes rearsets for Buell too, the Sato's look sexier though.

just picked up my 2nd bike on fri from chop shop. 06 gixxer600, 12,600(just put 450km on since fri). $5000 tax in. just some fairing damage on the left side, and mismatched rear tail. chop shop put a new fairing stay, new left signal lens, used tail section and a new rear rim. this is my new winter project.

i like how the tail is so short on the buell..

if there was any mod for the headlights to make it look like the european hornet, or the kawasaki z-1000/750's it would be awsome. how much that bike cost?

Nice one. Are you going to fix the panels yourself or do anything else to the bike during the winter? We need to hang out sometime. It's been ages.

yeah, im gonna plastic weld or do a patch on the fairings then repaint it. i got a good idea what scheme i want. paint the rims, change the tires, find a fender eliminator that i like, reupholster the rear seat(its got a small cut in it), maybe do a HID (its got a real good stock cutoff line)..um, thats all i can think of at the moment. clutch lever ball was snapped off and i replaced both levers with shorty pazzo levers and the switch was scraped, so i bought a mint used one and stuck that on. aren't you in manitoba or something doing training? or at least what i heard.
