Afghan Kabob & Donair in Saskatoon.
Only reason I went to it for lunch was because it got a good rating on Urban Spoon and I didn't want fast food.
So freakin good, prob ranks as one of the best donairs I have had along with Donair Affair. Place has a ton of different middle eastern food, had some nice hummus as well, wanted to try some dessert but I was too full.
If anyone is in Saskatoon I recommend it.

Shima-Ya
Top to bottom, left to right:
BC Roll, California Roll, Chopped Scallop Roll, Dynamite Roll, Negitoro Roll.
The rice was very fragrant and thinly wrapped. Ingredients were fresh. They use real crab meat in the dynamite roll (top right)!! Gonna go back for sure!
9/10. Very basic foods executed fabulously.

Corner 23
Deep fried chicken nuggets w/ noodles $6.95
So much food. Their chicken nuggets are different compared to other BBT places, but it's not bad. I still prefer Tapioca Express, they're the most like ones you can get on the streets in Taiwan.

Tried Shima-ya out on my lunch break as per Alphamale's review.
Solid 9/10. Rice was as described. Cuts of fish were excellent and reflected the quality.
Pictured: Salmon, Tuna, Chopped Scallop & their special dynamite roll. (Not shown: Salmon don)

I should have kept the receiept but each piece of sushi I ordered was $1.75 - $2.50 or so. The dynamite roll you see there is $5 or $5.50 but well worth the price.

The quality is reflective of the price. Let alone the rice.
Great. Now you can take me out for lunch. Thanks!

Craving Thai
8/10
never been a hardcore fan of Thai food but the portions are large and the price (while slightly on the expensive side) was reasonable

I find Shiro to have the best value when it comes to donburies.

They've got NOTHING on Shim-ya ability to construct the BEST sushi rice I've ever had.
I'm not dining (nor have I dined at) at Tojo's and Shim-ya is a small family owned business that makes an excellent product considering price/location/clientele..etc.
The short comings of pink ginger and fake wasabi are fine by me (even if they might be relatively cheap).
I haven't been back to Kimura since I went their during their soft opening mainly because when I was there, it was an absolute let down. Nothing showed real promise and nothing was fragrant of fresh. I'm still hesitant to go back because I'm afraid to waste money and be disappointed again.
I've never been to Toshi's and I'm unaware of what their pricing scheme is like but from what I've been told, it is expensive and easily prohibitively so. But then you have to look at their clientele...hipsters and rich folk from the west side.
Edit: I've only been to Shim-ya once (when I made the first post) and this is the mark it made on me. Perhaps if you go, your experiences and preferences will differ but this is the general consensus in my dining party.
I am also poor.
Edit #2: Don't be a mega-faggot-douche-fucker like Ronin.

If you're looking for a huge portion or serving size comparable to Sushi Garden, this isn't comparable however, my sister was quite satisfied without being too full.
Bottomline: Rice to salmon ratio is just right.
