Taiwanese Specialty in crystal mall
First time trying that place, surprisingly is pretty damn good. Got the medium spicy beef and tendon noodles. For a medium spice is still pretty fucking spicy hahaha 8/10

Refuel on West 4th 6/10
Ordered Ling cod special and it was under seasoned, and very small portions for a $25 entree. It was more of an appetizer sided entree.
Very poor value compared to what you can get within a 1 block radius

| Save On Meats
$6 burger, patty the size of a puck, juicy and full of flava flav. Awesome burger, nostalgic diner feeling.
9/10, still not digging the density of the bun.

Venetis Restaurant in Langley.
It was a nice quiet evening with my family. Location was in the township of langley opposite douglas park. The atmosphere wasn't too bad, there was old paintings on the walls, it was a bit dim but they had candlelights lit. For a starter, we had their variety of salad which was included with the main meal. It was basically a self serve all you can eat salad bar. For main, I had the prime rib steak medium rare, it was well marbled and well seasoned. Portion was pretty big and came with a side of fries, I couldn't even finish it. Prices were quite reasonable as the prime rib combo was 15 bucks which incl the salad bar. I'm sure I will go back again. 9/10

La Spaghetteria
6/10, Seafood Risotto was tasteless and mushy, and the seafood was all ground-up and lacking texture and flavour.

5 Guys.
First time there.
Burger was house-made, bacon was crispy. Fries came out freaking HOT. Also, not even overly salty.
For a chain joint, easily an 8/10. By far better than veras or fat burger.

So I just got back from a new place in Coquitlam called Pho Sen. Just opened at the beginning of June, in the plaza across the street from Henderson on Lincoln Ave.
Nice, new, clean and modern, pleasant atmosphere.
GF and I ordered:
-fried rolls with ground pork $2.50ea.
---larger than the norm, fresh veggies inside but the wrapper was a bit oily (not drained thoroughly?) w/ a side of sweet chilli sauce (would've preferred something more savoury and not sweet).
-small beef and tripe pho $6.75
---larger than most places, very clean, fresh tasting broth, medium colour, noodles done well, fresh ingredients
-beef w/ vegetables in spicy coconut curry w/ a side of rice $8.50
---meat was very tender and the veggies were very fresh (bok choy, mushrooms, red peppers, green beans and bamboo shoots), sauce was awesome The only thing that would've made it better would be if they had French bread to go with it.
-avocado milk shake $4.00
---again, very fresh, not too sweet
I give it a very solid 8/10, for the area it's the best pho place, hands down. My GF and I would usually drive to New West or Vancouver before we found this place. The other good thing is that it's open late (10pm weekdays, midnight Fri./Sat.).

The Mamak Cafe - 6.5/10
Shared a roti cannai with HachiSix. There wasn't much in portion compared to Bo Laksa King. A little small and not as fluffy. We both agreed it was a little dry'ish. Both of us had a Malaysian Laksa (as noted on their menu.) They use the thin rice noodles/vermicelli here whereas at Bo Laksa, you get a choice. The soup was alright and had more curry. Not much of a balance between the coconut milk and curry but that could be just the way they make it. Personal preference goes towards Bo Laksa King.

Actually, it's not there anymore. They're sharing space inside the African restaurant beside Pub 340 now.

| Zero One Sushi
8.5/10
Ordered their Deluxe Chirashi Don special w/miso soup - $9.50
Food lived up to the review as per Vancouver-Sushi.com. Cuts of fish were great. Some of the best tomago I've had.
My only observations (similar to Vancouver-Sushi.com)
1. Seating is scarce. This is really for just take-out
2. Everything is served in plastic or styrofoam take-out utensils/boxes
3. The kitchen staff could work on their knife skills.
Overall, good bang for the buck. Total hole in the wall sushi joint but for the price you pay, the quality of fish/food is excellent. Excellent recommendation on behalf of Jer3!
I believe this was a (spicy?) salmon don
Deluxe Chirashi Don (sockeye salmon, tuna, scallop, ikura, tomago, ebi) Trees Organic Coffee (Gastown)
6/10
Stopped by for dessert. Ordered a cappucino. Came out as a dry cappucino. Tasted terrible and the milk was burnt/over-heated. Do not like.
New York Cheesecake - They make a bold claim saying it's the best cheesecake in Vancouver. Not in my opinion. Had a tangy lemon flavour to it.
Not pictured - Iced vanilla latte
