Takifugu Japanese Dining:

Loved the sashimi and rolls here. Very peaceful ambiance too, something you don't see in most Richmond rooms. Chinese owned and operated but the sushi chef is Japanese and has been one for quite a while (20+ years).

9/10

^ it's not a bad place. they do have some unique things but is it worthy for me to be a returning customer, probably not.

I guess it depends where you are returning from. For me, I'd only go here and Sushi Hachi for a Japanese place in Richmond.

Given the price and location, it's hard to complain. They aren't great nor are they the worst. It's a bittersweet compromise.

I've been there many times as it is beside my church, but I find that they prioritize take out orders a lot more than eat in orders. Was there Sunday night with my parents, and they gave us a complimentary larger bowl of salad because of the wait. A few of the times I've been there, they have given us complimentary stuff for the long waits.

With that said, the next closest sushi joint (around the same portions, etc.) in the area would be Sushi Garden, at least from what I know.

Nope, me and my friends usually go to sushi garden a lot more frequently. Despite it being so close by, we rarely go there consecutively or frequently.

Everytime I go to sushi garden, we just park at the parkade on top. It's a pretty big lot.

Sui Sha ya @ Metro

7/10

i love the chicken teriyaki n their rolls, but goddam their service is slacking! i use to rate it a 10/10 the first few times i went but lately they have been slacking on everything. From taking forever to get our food to us, to giving us less then what we order. IF WE ASK FOR 10 ROLLS WE WANT 10 ROLLS NOT 7! lol

Splitz Grill in Whistler. 9/10

Definitely better than the one on Main by a large amount.

Way better than anything Five Guys puts out.
