Wasn't the greatest but it wasn't the worst. Service was great.
Alleluia Cafe
Beef brisket over TOS'd noodles and sauce - 8/10.
Milk tea wasn't as good today. Found a $10 bill on my seat. Covered my meal.
wow free money. why doesnt that ever happen to me
anyways yesterday, daeji
spicy gravy and cheese donkatsu
9.5/10. took off .5 cause its right across the street from a building full of skids which makes it both kind of weird and kind of entertaining to see shirtless crackheads sketching out.
Tenant appreciation at my work today, landlord had a BBQ.
Surprised when I walked downstairs to the parking lot that he hired one of the Roaming Dragon food trucks to cater the BBQ. Nice touch.
House made burgers topped with shredded cheese and lots of fresh veggies on a nice bakery fresh bun. Burger patties were huge, almost the size of a hockey puck! Served with hand cut fries which were extra crispy outside and nice and soft on the inside. Excellent.

Guildford Sushi--post workout munchies
went full healthy and ordered salmon sashimi and avocado rolls
9/10...not quite as good as I remembered the place used to be (haven't been there in ages), but I was hella hungry and the portions were fair enough
Shredded Jellyfish, Xiaolongbao, Shanghai Chicken, Wonton Soup and a few rice and noodle dishes I can't remember the names to. Service was quick and attentive for a busy Friday night.
Chop (Richmond)
Went for a co-worker's birthday. Had their Chop Burger with fries. Pretty good. Nice and juicy. 8/10
Agreed. For $14 that is a fuckin' good burger at Chop, taking into account the place and the price point.
Nor Boo 'cause Gyoza King too busy.
Food was okay, service suuuuuucked. Had the AYCE one dish (beef hot pot). Servings got progressively smaller, and the 3rd time I had to ask 3 times for another round of meat/veggies.
7/10

i went there once and omg is the service bad. if your not korean, then your guaranteed to get the shittiest service ever. ordering, getting more water/tea and getting the bill is the biggest bitch ever.

getting the bill is slow? well fuck, i guess its free!
Tokachi Restaurant in Surrey with the family today. Had the textbook California Roll, tempura roll, dynamite roll, vegetable roll, and teriyaki chicken roll. It was some of the best sushi I've ever had (the Korean-owned places can't hold a candle to this place), but the sushi kinda fell apart easily. Service was attentive to topping up our glasses of water, even there were only a few people there when we ate.
Hogshack in Steveston
Food - 6-7/10, wasn't that great. I'd prefer Memphis Blues. Had the beef ribs and the wife had the back ribs.
Service - 5/10, slow and the resturant was only 1/3 full.
Talay Thai on Granville (Marpole)
completely random find with my gf, was just walking up and down the street thinking of which joint we should visit (we dine in the area quite often) and we walked across the place. Gf checked it up on Urban Spoon and we decided to go in.
Turns out it's owned and operated by a Thai family--real friendly people who came from a small town outside Bangkok and making authentic Thai food.
