Nice and small little place with a great view of the river where we sat.
Pretty much everyone at my table ordered the Prime Rib with was only available on Fridays and Saturdays.
However, the waitress came back and was very apologetic and said to us that there were only two cuts of prime rib left and they were sold out of the filet mignon and some other cut, and all that was left pretty much was the cheaper sirlon steak only in the smaller cut.
Because of that, my friend for the most part was the most upset by this and I was affected too. How the hell you run out of steaks at a steakhouse and our dinner was at 8pm.
Overall the food was just mediocre. Manager came and talked to us, gave us a round of shots and took the bill off our drinks and gave us a 15% discount from the total bill. For me, I think the manager did the right thing, considering running out of steaks in a steakhouse is quite embarrassing and unacceptable.
Oh wells. I had high hopes for this place and wanted to try it for the the longest time; even the pictures on their website looked nice
Overall: Food: 6/10 Service: 7/10 I might come back again and hopefully they wont run out of steaks. | They seem to always run out of ingredients there... I went 2 weeks ago for lunch and ordered a Caesar salad particularly for the fact that they have anchovies in it but they came back and said they ran out of anchovies

Twinkle of Alexandra Road
Food 6.5/10- nothing special. Honestly, with Taiwanese joints, if you've tried one, you've tried them all.
Service 0/10- no greeting when we walked in, waited a good 20 minutes just for drinks and overall a 45 minute wait for three fairly straight forward dishes that could be prepared in a quarter of the time. No, the restaurant was not packed at the time; it's hard to imagine it ever being packed based on what I saw today.
We had to wait almost 5 minutes just for the server to grab us the bill--a pretty sure sign that she didn't really want to work for her tips.
To make it all worse, they did nothing about the order/overall cleanliness about their restaurant. The entire place is only slightly larger than the size of a Subway, and yet there were misplaced/out of place chairs everywhere, floors were not swept, and the servers (or server, rather, even though there were two of them on duty, you can never seem to find the other one when one is busy) just stood around not doing much.
Overall experience: 1/10. Some dumb hype restaurant having to do with Wrong Wroks/Brag Garden. Will definitely NOT visit again.

Taiko's on Denman.
AYCE sushi served by Japanese people, not sure if the manager / owner was Chinese.
Food: 7/10
Spicy Tuna sashimi was really good and spicy, otherwise, nothing special about this place.
Service: 8/10
Friendly efficient service, but the food took a while, and sometimes the waitress / manager wouldn't come by for quite a while when we needed them.
Ambience: 7/10
Nice location and clean place, but it was quite empty there for a Monday lunch.

Angel Cake Cafe (lunch)
Baked shredded chicken and ham sphagetti
Portion was decent. Only complaint was that it took 25 mins to come out. Everyone else was basically finished - hate it when that happens. Posted via RS Mobile |

seahorse cafe on kingsway
3/10
went with family at around 12ish. the place was empty only had about 2 tables and the place just opened(maybe it was a sign that we shouldn't have gone in lol). the baked stuff do not come with a drink but the chinese stuff do? wtf. had the combo noodle thing. you get to choose 3 items and it comes with a drink. bitch forgot to add sugar into my cold milk tea and told me to pour the regular sugar into it instead of giving the liquid one they also forgot to give the chilli and ginger for the hainan chicken rice so we had to ask for it...X.O. sauce seafood rice noodle was alright....
would i return? fuck no

Went to glowbal in yaletown today for the first time.
Service was amazing. Super friendly, accommodating, and attentive 9.5/10
Food. The menu sounded all quite awesome, but everything that came out was so........meh. The risotto was undercooked and under seasoned. The ossobuco was nice, but nothing special. Burger was a bit overcooked, and really boring. The paper thin slice of pancetta didn't do much for it as you couldn't really taste it. Poutine was good. Tiger prawn satay smelled and tasted fairly past its prime. Food was maybe a 5/10.
How the fuck are places like this always packed?
