Got several here from my weekend getaway on the Island.
1.) Odika Cafe (10/10) - CHEMAINUS
Now a little to explain the 10/10...
I was a bit hesitant to go in at first, since it was Saturday 2PM and there was only one seated table of 4 people. My GF and I went in anyways since we were starving... Boy did we make the right choice. I had a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich and she had a lamb burger with a lobster chowder.
- My sandwich was full of flavour, BBQ Juice/Sauce, and the bun was toasted just enough that the outside is crispy, but the inside was fluffy and warm. This is single handedly the most amazing pulled pork sandwich I have ever had.
- GF's Lamb was cooked just right and seasoned so that the lamb "taste" was not overwhelming but present. The patty must have been at least 1" thick! The lettuce was nicely picked and was green throughout - no brown spots or holes... just a perfect piece of lettuce.
- Her soup was a lobster chowder that was so full of flavour. This is not your typical chowder at a restaurant.. it was FULL of ingredients - NOTHING was spared.
Prices - about the same as here on the Mainland, but the lunch special for the day (my gf's meal) was a steal!
Service - 10/10, the (i presume) owner chatted with us for a bit, asked us where we were from... very friendly!
2.) 5th street Bar and Wood Fired Grill (7.5/10) - VICTORIA
- an OK place for a steak in Victoria... a bit cheaper than say... The Keg
- Our seat wasn't optimal. It was in a high traffic area, we were basically seated in a bottleneck...
3.) Shine Cafe (8/10) - VICTORIA
- BE PREPARED TO WAIT FOR A SEAT... THIS PLACE IS PACKED
- Menu was confusing...
- A bit too expensive for what you get.
- Awesome place for breakfast anytime during the day.
- AMAZING EGGS BENEDICT

9/10 for the Keg Steakhouse & Bar on Still Creek Drive in Burnaby.
Awesome sirloin steak. The 12 oz steak with baked potato is the bomb.
The crabcakes appetizer served with dill pick mayo is a real treat.
Good ambiance at this Keg. Th waiters are attentive. Good service. Even better food. The place was packed when we got there with reservations at 6:45pm.

Amorosa in burnaby
Small little pasta place. Heard some good things about it but I was not too impressed
6.5/10
Pasta was very mediocre.
For the price, I think Trattoria is muchhhhh better.

My sister's in town visiting from the UK, so we went to dinner at the New West Keg on Friday and it was STELLAR. 10/10 all around - food, service, the works.
Hung out at Stanley Park on Saturday, went to Fatburger on Denman for an early dinner... $10 Big Fat Deal combo with bacon-double-cheeseburger was wicked, 8/10... and bonus points for the manager for letting us pull our tables halfway out to the sidewalk so our dogs could stick close by.
