Rogue restaurant on west broadway and ash street.
Had their 9oz burger with side caesar... The waitress will ask you want a little 'pink' inside hahah... Tell her with a smile yah.
Food was 8/10. The patty was juicy and had lotsa toppings like bacon, pickles and the usual stuffings. But still yummy.
Service was good as it seemed quiet for a 11:30am gathering but waitress was very nice and kept refilling water and offering more coffee. Posted via RS Mobile |

Sushi Nanaimo 4/10
This place is by my house and after reading tons of good reviews I decided what the hell and gave it a shot. Like anything else in life, everyone has their own opinions. This was one of those places that had tons of reviews and was able to sustain a very high rating but will ultimately just disappoint you.
Place was packed but we got a table within 10 mins. Food came quick, almost instantaneous that it was quite shocking. No joke it was faster than McDonalds and that was already a bad sign. Took a look at the food and the portions were pretty big and I knew where this was going. Food wasn't terrible but by no means would I go back. It was Samurai Sushi Part 2. Big portions, cheap prices, and mediocre quality at best.
If you're into that kind of thing which many are then knock yourself out but I'm going to take a pass.

Agreed..nothing special when i went too. Maybe someone on RS owns it? LOL
I think for those more low budget sushi restaurants... my pick would have to go to sushitown on hastings..... their spicey tuna is pretty good...

Hawksworth 8.8/10
Me: Sweetbreads, duck breast, chocolate/rum parfait.
GF: Pork belly, salmon, passion fruit quenelle.
No complaints about the food and the service was great, but I found Araxi which I also tried recently to be better value for the price and had more "WOW". Although truffle/lobster cream sauce on my gf's Salmon was AMAZING.

It's a value oriented place.

river rock casino buffet
went there for a early christmas dinner
first plate was salad, mac and cheese, freshly sliced beef and some "chicken fingers"
salad bar is amazing imo great choices and condiments. the mac and cheese was great, but too , much wasnt good. wasnt cheesy. the freshly sliced beef was amazing. and the chicken fingers had such a hard layer of bread crumbs on them that it would cut your gums.
second plate was potato salad, shanghai noodles, more sliced beef, sushi and some pork su mai? some kind of dimsum. potato salad was horrible, huge chunks. shanghai noodles i liked, i generally like asian noodles. sushi was great, the spicy salmon packed a punch. dim sum was alright.
third plate was all meat, real good
dessert is alright, not a large choice. cheese cake, muffins. ice cream was okay. kinda tasted icy, like it was just blended ice with milk and flavoring.
over alll 8/10

The Red Wagon
6/10
Lots of people seem to love this place and I can see why. Pretty cool and legit retro diner but unfortunately not my kind of food. Super heavy.
I had the Pulled porked pancakes, GF had the smoked salmon eggs benedict. Portions were really generous though. Mine had a lot more pork that I thought it would. Her's was a bit lighter than mine but it was nothing mind blowing. Service was really good
Came out to $28.03 after tax and tip.
A bit more expensive than I would have liked. Maybe we're too use to grabbing a bite at places where we end up paying less than $20
on a side note: i saw a couple pages back you guys mentioned they have all day breakfast but when we got there it was 11:11am? and they stopped serving special items like eggs benedict because they stop making the hollandaise sauce after 11 i guess. Luckily they still had some leftover for us.

Portland Craft on Main Street (What used to be The Coppertank)
4/10
Food, service and drinks were rather underwhelming. Do not patronize this hipster shit hole.

dunns famous smoked meat
8/10 had the reuben with montreal meat (medium cut) with a side a poutine. meat was tender, juicy and tasty. the portion was right for a lunch meal. farely pricey, but typical downtown. Home | Dunns Famous Posted via RS Mobile |
