In terms of overall sandwich, Tung Hing. In Southern California, for some odd reason, a lot of places will not include the pickled veggies, cilantro and jalapenos in your sandwich. This place, for some odd reason now (they did not before) includes it. Tung Hing has better meats and sauces/spreads and they are made fresh to order. Mr. Baguette's sandwiches are somewhat pre-made.

Haven't had a viet sub in a while, and seeing dukes' post made me want one Went to that place near 3 road and Westminster today, after seeing it posted a while back in the thread.
Guy who made my sandwich was really nice, and really took care in making it. Got a special with cold cut and meat ball/sauce, and got a lemon grass chicken one for my brother. Bread is baked in house, mayo is home-made, overall pretty good. And they're a good size too, almost a foot long I'd say. The bread is good, not as good as Tung Hing's but still good. Meat and cold cuts were okay, and the veggies were nice and crisp. Brother's chicken sub was good; they used a full chicken cutlet made by the kitchen. He gave his a 4/5, lol.
Would definitely go there if I'm in Richmond and hankering for a viet sub, but wouldn't drive all the way there from Vancouver like I did today. I was just bored, LOL.
7.5/10 I guess.
Bad cellphone pic, of half the sandwich, saving the other half for later lol. |

Is that place Green Lemon Grass restaurant? I really like theirs, but, from that picture, it doesn't look like one of theirs. Posted via RS Mobile |

It's called Cao Van, the sandwich place is like a little side operation to the restaurant. Separate little counter and everything.

Olive Garden 8/10
Went last night around 5pm with a bunch of friends and the service and food was good. Go any later and you will have a long wait for a table.
I tried the eggplant parmigiana and it was good.

Yes, lots of local Vietnamese shops get their deli meats from Kim Chau.
Never tried a banh mi from there, but should be worth a shot.

Sushiii
For those who live near Kingsway and Nanaimo, a new authentic sushi joint opened up. "Sushi By Yuji"
-Unfortunately I didn't take pictures, but maybe next time.
- I had toro nigi, BC Roll, Fresh Wild Sal/Avo roll, and Miso. And for what it's worth, I really enjoyed it. For those that want quality, and are willing to pay extra, this is a nice place nearby.
- Try it out and let me know. FYI, they opened this week, so have some trinkets to roll out and fix, so just have that perspective.
Total bill was 12.32
No Rating this time, I just enjoyed my meal.
