All in all nothing special, and not really worth going to IMO. I've been before, and knew better, but I was hungry as fuck and angry because we had to go to a premarital counselling at a church to be able to get married there which was about 2 blocks away, so I walked into the first place I saw. | Your post reminds me why I'm still bitter about Terry selling Ah-Beetz to found Barbarella. |

Brado on Commercial, just a bit north of 1st ave. Went with 3 friends to try the poutine pizza, which was worth it.
The large was about 15 bucks, and fed 4 guys ok. If I was hungrier, I could have easily downed half or 3/4 of the pizza myself, but not today, lol. We had to wait about 20 minutes for it, but that means it was made fresh for us. Lots of french fries piled on top of a super thin crust, doused in cheese curds and gravy. I don't really go out looking for good poutine, but this one is pretty high up, for me anyway.
9/10 would return just for this pizza, and to try other stuff from them too.

9.5/10 | I am going to try Tapenade, based on your post.
If you like brunch, try Market by Jean Georges.
They are consistently good.
Pretty good value for appetizer, entree, and dessert for $29, and a pretty good location.
At $29, it's only $4 more than the brunch at Tapenade, but at Market, you also get the extra dessert, so in fact, it is a little cheaper (for 3 dishes at Market compared to 2 only at Tapenade).
If you like... crunchy waffles... how about crunchy French Toast at the Market? Crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside, served with 5 strips of BACON and apple slices.
But, for parking, remember to park on the LOWER level, not the upper level. The upper level is twice as expensive. All you need to do is drive another 10 seconds to arrive at the lower level. Or, park on the streets and walk up the staircase to Market.
10/10.
-----------------------------
Or, try Yew Restaurant + Bar.
Same $29, but more selection, and most of the time, the bar is quite busy during brunch.
10/10.

Valet? Don't know where they will park your car, but I had to make do with valet since it is hard to find parking in THAT area.
Food? Steak specific? 10/10.
Even... ahem... the bread was good, as it should be.

10/10.
Regular customer there, maybe once every three weeks.
Fresh, fresh, fresh sashimi.
But the one disadvantage is that they have few HOT dishes.
It is mostly sushi and sashimi.

mui garden @ richmond
price is soooooo expensive for what you get. I ordered the curry + beef brisket lunch set which comes with a drink for an extra dollar. First i got the curry, it was delicious except the portion was wayyyyyy to small for $8(DO NOT GET THE LUNCH SPECIAL CURRY). It is basically a small/medium bowl with a few pieces of meat... I get more in the aberdeen foodcourt (the cafe delight curry-which tasted a bit similar). The bubble tea was made just wrong. Tasted like water but hey, I was stupid enough to get cheap bubble tea made by a 50-60 year old, never again.
Roti for $3.5 i think came into 4 small square pieces, tropika > this
5.5/10, the workers kept yakking and talking (typical cantonese yelling which i understood) We don't need that shit when we're eating, scream inside ffs....
Haven't went to the Victoria location for a wihle but It was busy a few years back... I hope it ain't as expensive compared Richmond's location.

Parents got me some take out pho dac biet from that new place on Victoria Drive, Hoang Yen.
No bueno. The broth has a heavy concentration of star anise. I nearly puked. The quality of beef isn't that great neither. The portion was very big for a large but I would not recommend this place.
1/10

1/10 | Hm, when I tried it a couple months ago, the broth was plain as fawk.
Seriously, it was like hot water with half a pack of instant noodle seasoning.
I guess the fact still stands that this place isn't any good. It's a shame, really. Bad impressions so early.

The Dime 5/10
good & attentive service; meh food
had the arugula pesto penne
literally tasted. like. nothing. had to use copious amounts of salt&pepper
it was just straight up cooked penne and a couple of arugula leaves
first time eating there so i'm not gonna be so quick to judge. i'll try out a different dish next time

i am going to review two different steakhouses in Richmond.
-Keg Steakhouse
calamari was meh, dipping sauce was meh, I have tasted better ones somewhere else. Dungeoness crab and steak ($35). Such a sweet deal, half a crab and the body where the juicy meat is included. Huge portions. Crab soup was alright..... seems a bit simple
8.5/10
Chop Steakhouse and Bar
Ordered something similar, snowcrab and steak for $35. First thing I noticed when I get the dish is that the portions are fucking small. The steak is puny compared to the one served at the keg and the quality definitely isn't there. The snowcrab SUCKED! Literally, they cheaped out on the snowcrab legs and the size is like a size small, where as the dungeoness crab at the keg is a large. ( The crab pot had way better snowcrab than this) You do not even get the body of a crab, just 3 skimpy legs and an arm. Terrible value overall, would never buy that dish and I hope I convince everyone here who goes to chop to never order that small dish.....
such an overrated restaurant, the food sucks and so does the service. Avoid eating there
6/10
