American cheese steak company.
2 sandwiches, one poutine and 2 pops: $40.
The sandwich was good, but kinda small. The poutine mediocre..nothing special.
That was my second and possibly last time. Just too expensive for what you get. Posted via RS Mobile |

And, depending on where the hostess sits you, it can be incredibly private (if you wish it).

Went to Gudrun Tasting Room tonight for a family dinner, was super pleased with the food and general atmosphere. Their menu changes on a somewhat daily basis, based on what the owner goes out and buys. When he runs out, they buy different groceries and make new items. Tonight we ordered and shared 5 cheese mac and cheese, a pork sandwich and pan seared chicken breast with pesto. Started off with a cheese and charcuterie plate, with prosciutto, elk salami and amsterdam cheese. Finished the meal off by sharing a sticky toffee pudding and a strawberry custard kinda thing. Enjoyed everything, nothing to say there. All the food is organic or free range, and is made in a kitchen that is probably no bigger than 10 square feet and had a stove you'd find in your own kitchen.
9/10 Super solid. For me, anyway :P

Kanpeki Teppanyaki (sp), Richmond.
10/10 as always.
Probably one of the best Teppanyaki places in Vancouver.
Prompt service, and the chef was the boss (named Ah Qui), which I always ask for anyway.
He was able to mix the set dinners so that we paid a little extra and got about 2 hand-sized (forgot the oz) Japanese Kobe beef, grade 12 with a lot of unsaturated fat marbled into it.
The lobster was cooked well, and the lobster soup was good.
I highly recommend the restaurant.
But drink a lot of water afterwards!

The Red Wagon Cafe @ E. Hastings
Came here with a couple of friends after randomly seeing an episode of Drivers, Dine-Ins, & Dives on TV featuring this place.
Their buttermilk pulled pork pancakes w/ jack daniel-infused maple syrup & a side of crispy pork belly were killer but incredibly godlike!
10/10!!!

That's exactly what I got last time. Doesn't the pork belly remind you of Chinatown (like in a good way)?

So Crab So Good on E.Hastings in North Burnaby
$26 dollars for the ComboB... (shrimp, mussels, red potato, sausage, corn, pasta and Dungeness Crab) with the "holy smokes" sauce..
mehhh... another bash and eat seafood joint(its becoming a fad now...)
Stay away... Everything but the crab was frozen... the sauce is great though, but that's because it was used to mask the frozen taste of seafood...

No. 1 Noodle House in Gastown
4/10 for the overall experience, although the food itself was not bad (maybe a 8+/10).
Schematically the place makes no god damn sense. They serve ramen, green salads, spring rolls, and have PBR on tap. They have an open kitchen where all they do is have guys stand there cooking noodles and ladling broth into a bowl. They have a mini-stage (that's to small to be used for anything entertaining) and like four pinball machines for no reason, and the men's room had red melted candle wax as decor. Plus, they only take cash. The only plus side about the experience was that our waitress probably was not wearing a bra.
We went on a Tuesday night in the dead center of dinner rush, and they had maybe 4 tables other than us. Sad to say, because I actually quite enjoyed the food, but with what they're paying for rent (the place is massive for a place in Gastown), they'll probably be out of business soon.

The intention was a pop up shop courtesy of Mark Brand. Closing and high rent or not - no fucks are given other than to promote his brand.

I don't know what to call myself. I'm not a high profile foodie, nor am I in social media. I had actually never heard of Mark Brand until news about this restaurant.
I was OH! NEW RAMEN SHOP!!! YAY.
The moment I saw the mish-mash of the menu I already knew it wouldn't be good.
I actually bailed on my friends who were going because I knew it would be that bad.
And they told me that I was exactly right.
So promote his brand?
Didn't work.
The only thing it did for me is destroy his name.
On the other hand, if he's raking it in on hipsters and people who don't like ramen, then I guess investors will see that.
But for me.... |

how does crab pot differe from the fake ones in vancouver?? I went to crab pot various times and felt satisfied.
5 guys burger - timed myself to eat a full stuffed topping cheese burger , 2 minutes!!! so close to 1:59
also read tons of reviews from revscene saying they give a shit ton of fries. I never knew it would be THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS much. I ordered a regular size and they just scoop a shit load and shoved it in. I suggest getting one order and sharing with others because i really underestimated the portions they gave.
8/10
