Ayden Kitchen & Bar in Saskatoon (Round 2 for dinner service.)
- Drink special was a Bulletbach (their rendition of a Seelbach.) This drink suffered. Poor choice of bourbon and a bad mix - ultimately due to wrong ice size/density, and lack of the champagne. Bulleit bourbon is not a very good component in cocktails but is great neat or opened up with a splash of water.
- Appetizer was a beet salad which unfortunately wasn't much of a beet salad. More of an Asian slaw that was over dressed. Beets were far and few.
- Entree was a bacon and sausage tomato pappardelle - noodles were great, loved the parsley/herbs, but was too saucy where the meats couldn't be incorporated into the pasta.
- Grapefruit dessert - this was a fun, creative take on a crumble. Not bad.
7/10

yea, the patty etc. wasnt anything overly special and really the foie was the only thing that added flavour because it lacked any sort of sauce really. GF had the burger with the big avacado tempura on it and basically same thing, dry as fuck no sauces

Bao down gastown.
Had the yvr and chicka bao. Portions kinda small imo but it tastes good for what it is and another snack for me to grab before work in dt.
7.5/10:
yvr advertised avacado, did not taste any
too small for me
too many hipsters

too many hipsters | I had the one with crispy pork skin and the skin was far too crisped. Very hard to break when biting down on it. I ended up picking out most of the pieces and eating only the smaller ones I was able to chew. The pork belly that was also in the bao was nice and tender though.
I had that and their chowder for lunch, chowder is coconut based so theres a strong, but good, flavour which I enjoyed.

Service was average. Food were too salty.

Not worth it at all.
Poor manage company. It is sad. | agreed. i do not know how this place is still alive!! food isnt good, price is way way way too overpriced, flavour is an atrocity

why not og to both?
bambudda is legit for good drinks and then go to blacktail for main course.
that's what I did.

I would go to both and being biased, I do enjoy the food much more at Bambudda.
The bison tartare at Blacktail is good, but not amazing. The drinks are way better at Bambudda, however. Take advantage of Bambudda's happy hour menu from 5:30 to 6:30. Their small plates are 50% off.
A bit of an apples and oranges comparison so figure out what you prefer for your main course and run with it.
