It's summer now and all the tourists are flocking to Gastown in full swing. There is a guy by the name of AJ who is front of house - he's pretty awesome and accommodating.

After seeing all the amazing feedback on Rajio, I had to go try it myself. Made a reservation for an early mother's day, and had an awesome time.
Food was amazing, highlights were the stone pot rice, pork cheeks and the skewers. Decent price too, 100 bucks fed 4 of us, with drinks for everyone. Almost forgot to mention, loved the ginger ale. It was awesome.
10/10

Based on bcrdukes consistent raving of Bambudda, my friend and I opted to go there for cocktails last night so my review is based strictly on the drinks and service.
10/10. Go.

The rice should be seasoned. I think what hedonist meant was the rice was just plain rice without seasoning.

Tap & barrel for lunch today.
Tap burger. Pickled veg had too much vinegar made me choke when I bit into burger. Also their in house patty wasn't made properly broke apart when they were cooking it and they still put it in the burger...... 4/10 at least the sesame and poppy seed bun was soft and fresh, out of the bag.
Chips and guacamole. In house made chips apparently....
Again seemed like the packaged stuff, maybe they think toasting them makes it "inhouse" even the guac and salsa was from premade 4/10
Fries werent cooked long enough it was also the prepackaged rough cuts.... 7/10 I love Fries fresh or packaged they lost rating for being under cooked.
I must be spoiled with meals made from scratch ...
Then again my rating would be higher if I was having beers |

No such thing as being spoiled. I wish more people were hard on shitty places like that so they wouldn't exist. They are literally just a location and nothing more. Making good food is nothing more than seasoning properly and cooking it to the right level. Places that can't manage that simple task are wasting space.

Chen's Shanghai Kitchen in Richmond.
Not fancy at all, looks like a hole in the wall.
Parking is sometimes a pain... Richmond for you..
For the never disappointing juicy xiao long bao, 10/10.

Minami, first time there me and the gf went for lunch. Nice place and decent little patio. Started with the prawns and I had the premium lunch while the gf had the slow cooked roast with miso glaze. Tasty and the fish seems to be of good quality but the price is pretty steep for what you get. On occasion or for a nice dinner out with friends maybe but I think I'd still prefer to hit up one of my local joints and get a little more value for my money. Decent none the less, 7.5/10

Romer's on Kerr
"Deadly" cheeseburger
Garlic & sea salt fries
Reggiano onion rings
Caesar
Honey thyme lemonade
Love the toasted brioche bun. Mediocre beef patty, hardly any char and completely overwhelmed in taste and texture by the supplementary ingredients. I think that big glob of what tasted like Boursin was one of the "5" cheeses. Overly rich and gross.
Crap fries. Onion rings were alright but a bit thick on the crunchy coating and disgusting after getting to the burger and fries.
Drinks were the best part. They were ok.
Way to make simple food shit just to make it special.
5.5/10.

Sawasdee Thai on Main
I'm normally not a huge fan of Thai food, but the food here was pretty good. I wished the flavours were bolder and in-your-face, but good nonetheless.
8/10
