Miku lunch
Chirashi tart was a huge disappointment
Ebi fritter used to taste special. Now it just tastes like any other ebi mayo. Something about the batter
The only thing I say was good foodwise is we had a vegetarian and the vegetarian lunch combo looks beatifully crafted and delicious according to her. Service is still better than almost every other place in Vancouver.
6.5/10. Foodwise, worst miku/minami meal I've had. Either that or I'm just starting to get sick of eating there after 4 years...

Went to cannibal Cafe. It's located at 1818 Commercial Dr, Vancouver. It was pretty good. I'd give it a 4/5 and it was a hipstery place. I got a farmhouse turkey burger which was pretty good.
It had:
House-made Turkey patty, caramelized onions, applewood smoked bacon, cranberry relish, goat cheese, mayo, letter, tomato, onion and pickles

ebisu on robson
really love the salmon pepper popper. really hate this fucking name for the sushi roll but it tasted soooo good. I have tried the same type of rolls in miku and minami but ebisu's is pretty good
oysters were good, i recommend them!
but oyster motoyaki.... WTF happened to the design of the plate and the portions?!? last time i came was in 2014 in spring but it was the circle design plate where u had to scoope out the circles. The one I went to on Thursday didn't have the same design (less oysters) and less bread! This I WILL NEVER recommend and try again.
Sashimi salad, premium bigger size, way too much spicy sauce. felt like I was just eating the sauce rather than the salad which is suppose to be the focus
7/10

Pete's meat on Arbutus and 12th, or the hastings meat and bread both have awesome meatball sandwiches. Not subs, but definitely legit sandwiches.

LOL live DJ at a steakhouse? Must be having a tough time with the death of the white table cloth dining experience.

Hmm that's too bad to hear because when they were at the top of their game they had some of the better service in the city IMO. I've only had great experiences with the servers we've had there

I guess it's probably because I don't really drink/order wine, and I also tend to dress casually that's why I am to be presumed a peasant . The most consistent, top of the game service I get imo is from miku/minami or surprisingly enough, Joeys.

Well dressing casually to a place like Hy's, even though it's not ultra high end by any means is probably amongst the reasons why service has fallen off, if indeed it has. It's hard for me to consider even Hawks, etc to feel like fine dining when there's a guy next to me in jeans and a long sleeve.
I find the typical Vancouver dining crowd couldn't care less about etiquette which is seemingly why we don't have any ultra high end stuff locally, it seems like no one would embrace it.
On a few separate occasions as the downtown Hy's I've had absolutely terrific service, nearly on par with Michelin star places I went to in Paris. Older men who were extremely tentative, very detail oriented, and went far above and beyond what would be expected. Although it may have helped that apparently the guy was like The "go to" front of the house man.
It's quite a shame that the white table service is vanishing, although it mainly took a massive hit when mortons left. I quite enjoy getting service which I feel actually justifies a generous tip.

7/10 | Appreciate for the feedback!
Regarding the Oyster Motoyaki, we did switch the plate a while back but the portion of actual oyster is exactly the same as before. We did change the bread to French baguette and cut it a bit smaller simply because we noticed that barely anybody ever finished all the bread before. Please feel free to request more bread!
On a side note we might change the plating back to the round ones in the near future!
Also I will take note of the Sashimi salad and make adjustments. Thanks again!

Burgoo on Main
I always get the crab bisque. When its done right, its 10/10. However, theres a 50/50 chance where its watery and tastes like shit. If it ever comes out watery don't hesitate to get the server to get you a new one, they usually will change it no problem
9/10 service everytime
10/10 for the bisque done properly
