Both steaks were just "ok", ended up being a little dry and mine was definitely not rare as I always have it. It was closer to medium. She ordered medium rare and we compared steaks, both were identical colour inside, barely pink.
My friends said their prime rib was ok. Ambiance was good, service was good.

Trattoria on W. 4th

The Calamari was delicious, crispy with some heat.
Pasta was decent but overpriced for $23 a plate.
Couple of my friends ordered from the dine-out menu and they didn't like the entrees of fish and ham at all. Barely touched it.
The Nutella dessert was really good.
The server (looked like Liam Hemsworth) gave us the feeling that he didn't want to be there and was not friendly at all, was barely at our table. We had to flag him down for everything. He never came by with the pepper mill, I had to wave him away from his "chat" with the hostess to order another beer. I asked for a glass for my beer and he's like "oh, *sigh* fine" I guess also knowing that he was gonna automatically include 18% gratuity onto the bill too didn't help.
should of went on a tuesday when it was cheaper. not worth full price imo ... overpriced

Japanese, and apple thai. I tried one with smoked salmon in it and I didn't like it. Its a takeout place though so make sure its a sunny afternoon or you have a place to eat nearby.

So much topping.
My usual is the Hawaiian, premium grade black Forrest ham and lots of cheese.
Their C pizzas are also good but kind of a splurge.
I've been wanting to try this place for a long time! It's kind of far for me though, the pizza might be all cold and soggy by the time I get it home. I live almost in Downtown.
Anyone splurge with that $850 caviar pizza? lol I personally think that's overkill, however that Princess for $35 looks awesome.

Yeah I saw the Tuesday special when I was there already, lol too late . Definitely overpriced for regular menu and the arrogant server left me with a bad experience though. Not sure when I would go back again.

Had it last year with friends, and it's pretty epic but leaves alot to be desired.

-the caviar used on the pizza isn't the beluga caviar that sells for $275 per 30g, instead it's the Oestra caviar ($45 per 30g). The Oestra caviar is creamy and sweet, but not quite the top notch level as the beluga variant.

Not to bash on the pizza, but $850 can be better spent on a platter of smoked salmon, a dish of high quality caviar, lobster tails, and perhaps a bottle of Dom Perignon even.

Iirc the pizza used to be $120 although I didn't know how long ago that lasted. I don't know why the sudden jerk in price but I know mainlanders rave about it on Weibo and I've seen douchebags with poorly wrapped cars that buy it and eat it at the benches across the street in the summer. The owner must be laughing his ass off at how easy it is to make this kind of money

How many slices is it? I guess if you split it with with 10 people it will 'only' be $85 per slice

THE CASTLE – One Size Only (12 inch)
PRINCESS: Shrimp, crab, tiger prawns $33
MERMAID: Shrimp, crab legs, tiger prawns, smoked salmon $40
KNIGHT: 24-month aged Iberico ham, buffalo mozzarella, brie, semi-dried roma tomatoes, dollop of roasted garlic mousse $35
OUI: Caramelized duck confit, bocconcini, enoki mushrooms, chives and tomato relish $35
FOREST: Spinach, onion, Pommes Duchesse, cold smoked salmon $32
DRAGON: Alaskan king crab, tiger prawns and Chilean smoked steelhead salmon $100
QUEEN: Roasted garlic, Icelandic scampi, smoked steelhead, lobster ratatouille $120
SEENAY: Medley of tiger prawns, lobster ratatouille, smoked steelhead, Russian Osetra caviar, snowed with Italian white truffles $850

I think you are referring to the Queen pizza. Which sounds pretty good too but I still can't justify paying so much for a pizza. I think I will "settle" for the Princess and maybe a Caveman (looks like a meat lovers)

^ honestly, if u can run a business and be able to do that and jack up prices and still have people line up, go do it.
No different than people saying "wtf is this powdered flavor of taiwanese drinks, just add water, some tea and some tapioca and they charge like 6.75."

No. A long time ago I remembered seeing the Seenay listed as $120 and I told the missus and she shot that idea down quickly. The next time I went to the site a while after it was $850

Re up bbq.
$20 for a rack of ribs that was triple the portions of the rack I had at Peckinpah which was $30. It wasn't drenched in sauce and had a smokey, firewood bbq'd taste lingering around. I know this is nothing compared to the ribs in the states but fuck, locally this does the trick.
9/10

Phnom Penh for lunch

I wasn't as satisfied today as I normally would be

My shaken beef (bo luc lac) with rice and eggs was cold!! I was so hungry and in a rush that I didn't ask them to re-heat it.

Butter beef was good but chicken wings were just alright today.. They were a lot better before!! Maybe because it was just really busy i dunno??

They're always busy, they have no excuse of fucking up.
They're just going downhill, as is most places. Its nothing too severe, but it is noticable the last two times I was there.

Personally, phnom penh is extremely overrated, I would never ever go during peak lunch/dinner hours

La Brasserie 5/10
Food wasn't very warm, under seasoned, not cheap and service was inattentive. Surprised its still in business. Nice looking restaurant with a nice menu just executed poorly.
Pourhouse
Food 9.5/10
Drinks 10/10
Service 3/10
The food was so great, I don't care much about how the service was. The server was actually really prompt, but very rude. Being in the food industry I am a very easygoing customer, don't treat me like an asshole the second I sit at the table.
Burger was fantastic, one of the best in Vancouver. Pork shoulder steak with spatzle, Onion soup, tuna nicoise, were all great. Awesome beer list. I'll be back, but maybe I'll ask to move sections if I end up with the same server. All the other staff was very pleasant.

Landmark hotpot
Food:10/10
Service:9.5/10 solid service considering it is a chinese restaurant. They lost 0.5 because of the shitty owner who runs around with the card machine. Rude af. Which sucks cause her staff are great and you want to give the guys a good tip but her collecting payment at the end makes you go like "I should've only gave 10%"
Value: 9/10. While the food is good, I'm still not convinced I should be paying this kind of money for boiling my own food.
