And as far as my experiences go, Hy's is about as white glove as it gets in Vancouver. Never had a bad server there and they've always been excellent and personable.
Gotham was way more casual than I remembered and as others have said, there were a whole bunch of kids there. When I saw one server bring out a fucking high chair I was kinda like uhhh...
Also walking out with fucking chicken fingers..
In a lot of ways that's Why I love Croc as well, cause no ones gonna bring a damn kid there lol

Mainlanders gon' mainland. They used to have this manager Chris, he would straight bitch out people who brought nonstop crying and annoying kids in the restaurant. Too bad he got fired. Would've made everyone else's experience much better. Too many managers bend over to unreasonable customers these days because "the customer is always right". |

Fairmont pacific lounge. Yes it's not the best place to go when there are options but fuck if I'm going to sit at Cactus club again I'm going to kill myself. (I eat at Earls, Cactus, Milestones etc at least twice a week so I pretty much know the entire menu).
2 drinks + 2 sashimi carpaccio.
First off, each of the carpaccio were $16 and $18, which is NOT bad; very reasonably priced compared to Cactus club. They had live band etc but yes, their view is blocked by convention center.
Here's the beef: $18 for Pimp's cup and $19 for Old Fashioned wtffff when did cocktails get to be this mofo expensive. The old fashioned wasn't even that good, Pimp's cup was actually ok. I was just blown away how expensive alcohol is nowdays.

I prefer the Pimm's Cup.

Is there any place that serves authentic beijing style roast duck (thin skin with some meat attached) that carves it in front of you at your table? Not looking for the regular Guangdong styled ones (just skin)

Salmon banh mi was like a viet sub lmao

Strathcona beer company.
9.5/10.
Great service
Nice place
Good beer
Second best pizza I've had in the city. It's not cheap, but nothing really is so whatever.

Passed Via Tevere randomly the other day. Looks like I'll have to try it out.
My favs in the city are Farina and Nicli Antica. Barbarella on Fraser and Broadway is pretty decent as well, and they have a really good rotating beer list.

The guy who runs strathcona beer co's kitchen is one of the original cooks from barbarella.

If she was puking right when she got home, you probably got food poisoning from the meal before. It doesn't happen instantaneously.

The banh mi made him laugh his ass off. I couldn't figure out if that is the reason why he gave the place a 5/10 or not. Perhaps he couldn't handle the hipster vibe.
