I can not believe people still spend money on that fucking garbage.
Not to say all chains are bad. Places like Cactus, earls, etc are great for what they are, and seem to be taking even more of an interest in using quality ingredients. Just speaking about the lower end chains. The gap between the "good vs. the ok" has turned into "really good vs. microwaved, chemical laced compost." | amen dude
i never found the interest of eating at moxies and milestones, nothing is great there, food is terrible, servers not even hot!
Having worked at Cactus previously in my late teens as a cook, they really pride themselves on respecting the food and cleaning the kitchen
and their moto is "the customer is always right"
decided to go Keg because of revscene and the free dessert, our server in the richmond location gave me 2 extra comped desserts cause hes chill with me, and i was talking superbowl with him :P
New york strip on medium was awesome, baked shrimp on those cheese plates were the best
and free dessert :P

So would you rate your experience a 2/10 or 10/10 at The Keg?

Have I told you lately, that I love you?
Honestly though, dineout brought us a lot of great business, and I know lots of people left happy, but like you described, some people will always think that they are a fucking world class food critic because they are some dipshit with an instagram account. They really have no idea how to behave in public it seems. Put your phone away, eat your food, and say thank you and we will make sure you are recognized for it by giving you the best experience we can.

7/10 | Went to Arbor yesterday, I felt exactly the same as you. I guess for vegetarian food it was pretty good, but, it's still vegetarian lol.
We had the arbor burger and artichoke sandwich with poutine.
The poutine was flavourful and good portion.
The sandwich was really good, southern fried for a nice crunch with a nice kick from the spicy mayo but the veggie burger was mushy and gross like eating a soft bean paste patty.
7/10 is about right.

Appys like garlic shrimp and beef carpaccio were average. shrimp over the carpaccio in terms of flavour and as the portion was lacking. Entrees were nothing great, 10$ add on to switch to the ribeye steak and 12$ add on for half a lobster tail which was tasty but not worth it (half of a lobster tail was more like a quarter of one). Probably wont be returning here or even trying dineout in the future unless something seems really appealing in the future. | Not sure if you read previous posts but many of us are not too impressed by the Glowbal chain in general and there's a good reason for it. You kind of proved our point lol.
With all those add-on's and a drink plus tax and tip you almost paid $100 just for yourself for mediocre food. Not really a deal and you could have got way better food at Hy's or similar steakhouse for that price.

It's a fluke if the done-ness is right.
And restaurants seem to choose pretty grill marks over a tasty crust.
Would rather eat where a chef and team can showcase their skill and creativity.
And save my steak nights for home.
It's the easiest thing to learn to make, and totally worth the effort.

^ agreed 100%
My menu choices are typically things I don't make at home or items with ingredients I don't normally have/am interested to try.

i always watched people do that tenderness check with their fingers/thumb etc for the done-ness of steak, thought it was always stupid until i finally nailed down the touch (albeit not using my palm etc lol)
once you know the feeling it's pretty easy to bang out an awesome steak

This is the worst ramen ive ever ate. The soup was super greasy with no taste. The person sitting beside me ate a few bites and left because it was so bad. There was no heat inside either. For the price you pay its not worth it at all.
Not recommended!

I don't mind earls either, but only at the Yaletown location.

Tuna sashimi salad at Joeys is awesome. Thai wings at Earls as well but I'd still take Cactus over both any day of the week.
Really wanna check out Westo's place one day here soon (not lumping it in with aforementioned 3). I'll get out there!

Speaking of Cactus has anyone tried the Feenie Burger? My old work place the manager, owner and co-worker raved about it, so after 6 months I finally tried it. I got to say I didn't find it all that special. Maybe its the sauce that's in it..tasted like thousand island dressing which I hate.

There are a few dozen burgers in this city I'd reccomend over that. Any burger that isn't medium rare isn't worth raving about.
