Showcase 7/10

Food was decent. Proteins were small but came with lots of veg. Braised short ribs were a bit dry. Service was good though. And if the place had more than a half Dozen diners I'm sure it'd be a nice place. I was there at 745. Maybe I missed the rush

Flo again for lunch. Deal of the century 2 awesome drinks came with free thick toast (got French toast and condensed milk) outside these wouldve costed at least $6-7
Club sandwich was alright. Not a fan of the tartar sauce/fried fish in my sandwich but it wasnt bad I guess. For value under $15 for gf and I walking out stuffed I give today an overall 9/10

Free toast deal is only from 3-5:30 iirc but another + side to coming at this time is there's more parking available. I rarely come at normal hours cause the parking just sucks

I ordered an ice plate once at Flo. I confirmed with the waitress 3 times before she put my order through. I ended up getting a milk shake and had the nerve to give me shit. I will never go back to that shithole ever again.

Haha, I forgot to tell you guys about the funny story yesterday. I ordered the strawberry italian soda, they throw some whipped cream on top and when she brought it to me she warned me that it was really full. (In chinese of course) I hate how the strawberry/soda are seperate when they bring it to you which makes it taste like perrier if you don't stir it. I stirred it and the whipped cream went in and well if you've ever seen a float being made it went high school elephant toothpaste on me and she was shouting at me "Drink! Drink! Drink!" in a fobby accent, I guess she assumed I didn't speak chinese because of my complete ignorance

Mega Grill on Kingsway and Fraser. 1/10

They just opened up in the neighborhood and got their flyer. wanted to try it out. Their menus looked super cheap so I was expected a shietty place with cheap food. ordered $10 steak and $10 roast lamb for take out. I had super low expectations since well, it's a $10 steak. Went there for pick up, they took super long, and I expected microwave food type and I can hear the microwave when I am waiting. I can hear the cook bitching in the kitchen.

Keeping in mine that I expected the food to taste just edible and I just wanted some quick cheap food, once I got home and ate , found out it tasted worst than sheit. Couldn't even finish anything, and me and my friend are the type of people that can eat almost anything too. Overall. it didnt even meet my low expectations.

Asa sushi in kerrisdale

Had 3 rolls and they were massive! Was stuffed and still have some for left overs.
Friendly service, had to ask a couple times for tea refills.

7.5/10 for food

Charlie Vergo's Rendezvou, open since 1948.

One of the most famous BBQ places in Memphis.

EXCELLENT Ribs. Might not look like much from the pictures, but the taste was amazing.I don't normall like pork that much either, but this was very very good.

Ambience:

Definitely worth a stop if you are ever down in Memphis. 9.5/10

Prime Rib & Lobster entree @ The Keg, Whistler Village.
8/10 - Prime Rib was a bit sinewy.

AYCE, regardless if Richmond or Vancouver, is not good in general.

Don't know why there's so many rave reviews. While the food was decent, it's really just French pub food done well. Overall I found the appetizer menu a little lacking. Entrees were ok.

Actually I left the place a little disappointed cause of all the hype. I was also expecting it to tilt a little towards fine dining; which was not the case. Anyways, nothing to write home about. I'd rather go back to le crocodile and pay the premium.
Name kind of gave it away.

Tokyo Thyme @ Kerrisdale. 8/10

Food took quite some time to arrive, but staff was courteous and pleasant. Food was good, fish was fresh and the rice does not have that annoying vinegary taste.

The rolls are made quite beautifully. Nothing astounding taste-wise, but it is good, dependable sushi. They have both wild and farmed salmon.

Although it may seem a bit expensive, I contend that it is better value than stuffing your face ala Kingsway AYCE Sushi.

Pho An on Kingsway

First time here, needed a quick snack on the way to work.
Broth was average, not much meat for a large. Noodles were mushy.

3.5/10 I'll try one if the other 50 pho reataurants on the block before I return.
