Anyone on rogers without a data plan?
Recently they send out annoying txt messages to tell you that you dont have a data plan.
I must get like 5 of these a day whenever i use wifi.
Is there anyway to stop or block them?

hmm i dont have data and ive never seen these messages. try installing iBlacklist and add the text # to your blocked blacklist

is it me or are others having issues adding additional sources. Everytime I add an additional source, i get errors. I then have to go into ssh and delete the entries in cyida.list

yea I didn't have this problem before.... it might have been because I updated bossprefs which can disable edge/3g
it's a bit glitchy on iphone 3g/s on 3.0+

If you open bossprefs it should display N/A for both wifi and data IP address
mine used to do that... now it's not disabling data IP for some weird reason

anyone had problems connecting wifi at home?? i cant seem to get mine working

I know that they're two separate networks and I know that having good reception with one doesn't necessitate good reception with the other. my question is, why IS the reception different between the two?

nah, 3G is on. or at least it should be, no? where the 3G symbol is gets replaced with the WIFI symbol because my neighbour has an unsecured network running. the 3G symbol only comes on when i'm not within a WIFI network (ie: the WIFI symbol isn't lit) that the iPhone has connected to.

I was just using my iPhone to check my telus webmail and safari crashed (static grey screen). I power down and power up again and the iPhone tells me that my SIM has sent a text mesage. Wha?

is my friend's iphone doom to be lock forever?? her 2g iphone wouldnt boot pass the apple page so she did a restore which forces her to use the 3.1.2 firmware. Now can she jailbreak it with the 3.1.2?

Anyways, what I want to know is, if anyone has used the blackra1n unlock feature? My GF wants an iPhone and she got a bunch of replies for Telus iPhones. Want to make sure the blackra1n unlock works before getting it. I just read that there were problems with the unlock on some iPhones. Don't want to risk the trouble getting a phone on another carrier if it doesn't work properly.

just a curious question, if you installed an app on your iphone before and ended up deleting it and when you decided to install it again, it would charge you because back then it was free. would it still charge you because it gives you the question "you've already installed this app, install again..?" something along those lines or would it be free since you've already had it previously installed

use blacksn0w to unlock. its in Cydia. try it. if you get "no service" it didn't work. uninstall. no mess.

amazing, i just got tethering to work by using an overseas SIM and turning the feature on...wow...and i didnt even have to hack the phone or apply the fix...

is there any way to transfer the files from voice memos on the computer? i'm not talking about transfering it on itunes either

Question regarding a 3GS, it fell into a puddle and had some issues with the sound. The phone will not play sound out of the speaker, only through headphones. The phone did still work, but we turned it off and promptly dropped it in a container of rice. We checked the SIM slot and it was dry. There was abit of water in the headphone jack, but other wise it seemed ok. So, the phone WAS still working except for the sound when we turned it off.

Should I play it safe and leave it in the rice for awhile or do you think it's just a headphone jack issue and it would be safe to turn back on?

Air it out then turn it on.. wait til the insides are completely dry.

i got a bit of water down by the dock and my phone went a little crazy. i left it in a small box of rice with a lamp over it for a couple days and things went back to normal.

any idea where I can buy a good working logic board 2g iPhone 8gb?
