hey guys, I finally gave in. got an iPhone today its 3.1.2 already unlocked and JB'd but i dunno what i pressed it reboot then it asked me to connect to itunes, when I did i then Have to update to 3.1.3. which i know is not a good idea. anyone suggestions? how to fix this?

it kind of sounds like a tethered JB type deal.. is it a 3gs? if so, you cant do anything.. if you have a 3g, you can JB, but not unlock.

You pretty much have a tethered jailbreak, which means every time your phone resets it needs to be connected to a computer and jail broken.

Most of the new 3Gs cannot be jail broken without having to be tethered after reset. I would wait a few months and hopefully one of the dev teams will have something pumped out.

will any USB cable off ebay work with the ciggerette USB charger for my 3G? or are they pretty hit and miss?

i just noticed this on the App store: TomTom GPS with only Canada and Alaska Maps for $59. its only 300MB VS the USA& Canada ver for $69 and 1.5GB. frees up a lotta space if you are, um, banned from travelling to the USA or have very limited travel there.

Its pretty good considering that it's an iphone. Not a lot of characters though.

Apple announces a new iPhone at every WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) in June, so there will 100% be a new iPhone announcement come June, with a likely release date of late June-July.
