Yeah I noticed uploading pics takes so long and when I post stuff it's the sane way it was working today until about now, the app just keeps closing on me Posted via RS Mobile |
for those of you that want the mutli tasking features of ios4, there's an app on cydia called backgrounder that lets apps run in the background. I downgraded back to 3.1.2 and use this for a few apps and it works great and really easy to use |
How do u down grade back my friend is trying to do that, I didn't think u could Posted via RS Mobile |
I usually had problems with backgrounder. Tasks would just close themselves quite often even when there were only a few running. |
^ would that be because the phone runs out of ram? resource management for the phone isn't very good, imo. |
I've been running backgrounder for pretty much a year now and I've never had problems with it. I always find that SBSettings crashes my phone more than anything else! |
Quick q, someone sent me an audio file through SMS but all it shows up as is a clicksble link and the file cannot just be clicked on and played, and when I hold down on the file the only option is to copy, and when I tried to copy and paste into an email all that gets pasted is the name I belive the format is qcelp or somthing, any way to open this file or get it on my computer? Get him to downgrade to 3.1.2 if he wants to keep his phone unlocked or if he plans to. I downgraded to 3.1.3 at first and it upgraded the baseband, even though I'll probably never unlock my phone, it woulda been nice to have that option later down the road if I needed it. |
for anyone that is using an iphone 3gs with the newer baseband that is still locked to the provider and wants to unlock it, here's the link. Just verified it on my phone (originally locked to Rogers) with a Hutchison 3 sim card and it worked like a charm. Click here for the instructions..... |
Ugh can anyone help me with backing up on itunes? It's slow as FUCK. And I'm talking like, taking many days slow. |
Nevermind found the solution: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=770962 |

What I meant was has anyone did it them self. Cause I'm stuck on the part where it said its waiting for reboot but nothing happens. Is there a site where I can do it with instructions. Btw my iphone is 4.01 if that helps. Posted via RS Mobile |
i think most people did it themselves the programs to unlock/jailbreak is pretty staight forward you just follow the onscreen instructions, iirc no unlock out yet for 4.01 you running 4.01 on a 3g? not a 3gs? i heard it makes your 3g snail speed |

3G as i said, use redsn0w to JB, then ultrasn0w to unlock |
I used redsnow but I'm always stuck at the part when it said its rebooting, but it never happens. Is there a place where there's a list of firewire where I can download for the phone? Posted via RS Mobile |
jailbreakme 2.0? open up safari and go to http://www.jailbreakme.com i haven't try it tho, i'm still on 3.1.2 tethered blackra1n jailbreak on the 3gs, not sure if i have to restore before using this |

For my gf's phone, we used official iOS4.0 and www.jailbreakme.com, works perfect! Then I proceeded to do the unlock - ultrasnow source, then the program, perfecto! I'm off the hook, accidentally updated her phone to iOS4.0 a little while ago, leaving her phone useless and locked. |

hotjoint, I had problems trying to "trick" iTunes in that it was speaking to the real Apple Server and not the saurik server. I wish I knew a better way, it just didn't work for me. I was on the newer bootrom & iOS4 - didn't save the ssh from cydia. I'll post up a big "help me" next time I screw up, again :D. |

Finally upgraded my 3GS to 4.0.1 from 3.1.2 today and jailbroke it using jailbreakme. Easiest jailbreak I've ever done. I do notice that my reception isn't as good after the upgrade though Posted via RS Mobile |
Sigh how many more months till multitasking on the 3gs will be stable enough for me to attempt this... |
