^ probably never... i doubt apple will work on improving it on the 3gs. their official policy is proabably that ios4 is designed for iphon4, if u use anything else prepare to not get the full experience =\

what camera apps are you guys using for your 3g? the ones i'm trying are always crashing when i try to start up the app. anyone else experience this or have an idea of why this is happening? is it cause i don't have enough available memory to run it or something?

hey, if you update your pirate apps through the appstore will you get banned?

You can't update apps you don't own. The AppStore knows if you own that app or not

i was helping my friend's to jb last night with his 4.01 on 3g and I couldnt stand how SLOW it made the phone....

4.0 is way too slow on the 3g. I downgraded back to 3.1.2

Remove useless launch Daemons

com.apple.ReportCrash.(Different Things).plist - There are 5 of these daemons, and they collect data about what caused a crash, what programs were running at the time, etc.
com.apple.CrashHouseKeeping.plist - Also deals with crashes.
com.apple.aslmanager.plist - This daemon manages system logs.
com.apple.syslogd.plist - Logs system events.
com.apple.powerlog.plist - This is used to monitor any incompatibilities with 3rd party chargers.
com.apple.stackshot.server.plist - This daemon's function is currently unknown, but removing it has no adverse effects on one's device. Some more information can be found here, although the page is quite technical and isn't very useful to an end-user.
com.apple.tcpdump.server.plist - This daemon is apparently used to dump traffic on a network (Source), but I don't know what that means, exactly. Removing this daemon has no adverse effects on one's device.
com.apple.iqagent.plist - This daemon's function is currently unknown, but removing it has no adverse effects on one's device.
com.apple.mobile.profile_janitor.plist - This daemon's function is currently unknown, but removing it has no adverse effects on one's device.
com.apple.chud.chum.plist - This daemon is thought to relate to Apple's CHUD (Computer Hardware Understanding Developer) tools. Removing this daemon will have no adverse effects on your device, unless you are a developer.
com.apple.chud.pilotfish.plist - This daemon is also thought to relate to Apple's CHUD tools. Removing this daemon will have no adverse effects on your device, unless you are a developer.

Can the guys who have a 3GS and updated their phones to 4.0.x please comment on their battery life and whether or not they're jailbroken/unlocked. Specifically if they notice a drop in the battery life.

Um so I updated my 3gs with 4.0 but how do i "multitask"?

If it's anything like the iPhone4 just open the apps you want to use. To close them you click on the home button twice and a screen will pop up. Just tap and hold an icon and remove it from there.

I noticed with the update the phone seems to run faster/snappier but the msn app is buggy and doesn't always relay messages anymore.

sometimes I get a message saying carrier update, update later or update now on my phone when i go to the settings section. i'm on 4.0.1, with a unlocked 3GS. if i update am i going to lose my jailbreak?

i'm seeing those warning signs not to update in cydia and rockmyphone, but i'm wondering if they're referring to this update via iphone or via computer?

It's ok to do the carrier update. The warnings about not doing the update is for the firmware.

Don't think so.

RS is going to feed differently to a mobile browser versus a desktop.

a question, where would i be able to buy a new 3gs from a store? i don't want to buy a used one and find that it's been screwed up by the previous owner, and i don't want to have to buy in to a new contract.

this is for telus. my htc touch pro has packed it in

You can try the Apple Store. I'm sure they have new 3GS for sale

Agent Faker in Cydia

Got an Iphone 3GS(yea yea I know but I trade my other phone for it so yea). Anyways it is running IOS 4.02 and according to Dev team I have to downgrade it? I can't seem to find the right fimware online. Can someone give me a suggestion?
