Official Update*
*As always Everything is subject to change. Information below is correct at time of posting, however Rogers may change some or all of it as they see fit.

Hardware price is based on the customer MSF and a 3-year term
MSF-----------8GB------------16GB
$30 or below--$249-----------$349
Above $30----$199-----------$299

Yes this means you can keep your $8 retention plan and get an iPhone.

MSF Downgrade fee (applicable if you received your iPhone 3G for $199/$299)
If at any time during your 3 year term you downgrade your MSF to $30 or below "Rogers will need to cancel the original $50 credit".

Note regarding HUPs: When doing a Hardware upgrade you will always be billed the $249/$349 price points and if you signed up on a MSF >$30 you will automatically be credited the additional $50 on your next bill.

Data plans are not required to purchase an iPhone 3G and they have no effect on pricing. Therefore if you take one there is no need to commit to a term and subsequently no Data ECF. Also there is no Data ECF if you take the iPhone voice and data bundles.

However if you do not take a data plan you will be forced to sign a data waiver saying that you understand how the pay per use data charges work.

All iPhones will be tethered and unbricked instore as part of the activation process.

what does MSF stand for?

Simulated 07-05-2008 10:41 AM

montly service plan

Levitron 07-05-2008 12:26 PM

Does anyone know if the MSF price includes the add-ons such as caller ID or is it JUST the plan itself without the add-ons?

My bill each month comes out to $31 just after the add-ons (before tax and SAF).

usually when they say MSF (Monthly Service Fee), it only includes the plan fee, so 30 unlimited incoming + 7 CID + 10 text .. MSF is still 30

i'm pretty confused too...

my friend who works for rogers asked his manager and he said he specifically stated that you are eligible for an upgrade if you have been on your contract for 12 months.

Tim Budong 07-07-2008 01:06 AM

12 months..ur on teir1 pricing, which is inflated...

cspec 07-07-2008 01:12 AM

how inflated are we talking here?

venemis 07-07-2008 04:06 PM

$199 for the phone, and getting the 3G plan for $60/mo for 2 or 3 years... eww...

not to mention you'd have to give up your current plan, if you have a good plan now I dont think it's worth it getting an iphone 3G. it's just misconception on the initial cost to make you think it's cheap = =

FALLEN87 07-07-2008 05:01 PM

venemis not tryning to shit on you but at least 15 people have said the exact same thing you just said in different words. We get it there ripping us off.

y don't u get it without the 3G plan then... don't give up your current plan and just do a HUP..

it's Rogers mistakes to put out those plans.. but you're not forced to follow it..

FALLEN87 07-07-2008 05:55 PM

everyone is saying the plans are manditory?

Tim Budong 07-07-2008 06:53 PM

these plans are NOT mandatory
u can go in
build ur own voice n data package and walk out with the iphone
its just that these iphone plans has txt and visual voice included

FALLEN87 07-07-2008 08:54 PM

but if i already have a killer plan that i got 2 months ago and upgraded will they let buy one not for cheap but buy one anyone

Tim Budong 07-07-2008 09:32 PM

go in on july11th and find out
the teiring or no teiring on upgrades isnt confirmed

but it does say on my info sheet/job aid that all customers are elgiable for HUP

FALLEN87 07-07-2008 09:43 PM

shit i dont knoww what to do i wanna go there right at openeing but if i miss another day of summer school science 9 has to be done again.
