^^^it's 3 year contract with that i believe, just in case maybe next year you could get 40bux for unlimited data, then you are f'ed up big time |
important question: why the hell do i need a data plan when i can steal wi-fi everywhere? are they locking the phone's wi-fi??? |
Can you steal wifi while you're in your car moving along? Or how about in the bus/skytrain? That's why data is so useful :) |

whats the deal with "wifi" only in rogers and/or fido hotspots? i dont understand this. can we use the "wifi" anywhere that has a wireless connection or what? |

but i don't need to check my email or browse RS while i am driving... i found that the only time i use my wi-fi on my w960 is in class, at blenz, or when i parked somewhere waiting for people... if there is no unlocked wifi, too bad. i will do some other things. the thing i want to know is whether or not the phone's wi-fi feature will be locked to only fido/roger's network. which would suck because the iphone will just be identical to Blackberrys... (minus an ipod) |
No, that would be retarded and Apple would go batshit if Roger's was THAT stupid. |

ur lookin at 200units to a mere 8 units per store depending my initial overview of the phone doesnt look too different than the old one biggest upgrade for me would be the hand writing recognition... its accurate as hell! especially the chinese so this will sell well the gps is lightning fast |

hand writing recognition is a software upgrade (iPhone 2.0) to any iphone. Even the old iphone can upgrade the software and have hand writing recognition on their phone! Nothing really special about it... especially when everyone going to have one next week. |

for one thing stores will be required to have a wifi connection for the demo lines how htey get it, up to the store, so wifi cant be locked plus, this is an APPLE product. apple wants their product to be same thing in quality and what the user expects whether it be from China, Japan, UK, Australia, USA and Canada so it will not be locked Apple loves their image, and the iPhone police is out there to bust dealers! |
OMG LOL iPHONE POLICE....hahahaha good one. |
thats what we are callin them since day one of phase1 for hte iPhone lolol |
LOL @ all those people sleeping on the streets waiting for the Iphone infront of the stores in NEW ZEALAND. so is there that much hype here in vancouver as well? anybody camping outside somewhere? |
Camping out in Vancouver :) I thought the iPhone was old news here, everyone had it last year. Adding a few bells and whistles (3G, 16gb etc) does not make it new. |
just talksed to a CSR at rogers. based on MY plan and usage ($25/month) i can get 8GB iPhone for $349 - $50credit +(maybe $35 admin fee) 16GB iPhone for $449 (same as above) the above is a Hardware upgrade with a 3 yr contract extension. no additional data pkgs reqd |
