i just got my 2g 2.0 unlocked using winpwn 2.0 to make cutom 2.0 for the iphone

i dont think that works for 3g

well im selling off my phone. i just cant justify keeping it.

i liked my 2g iphone but it fell out of my hand, landed right on the power button at the top, jammed it so there was no way of resetting it. too bad no warranty.

I just talked to Fido and they said that I can do a HUP and get the iPhone. My main concern though is that I must sign a 3 year contract which I really don't want since I am not sure if I will stay in Canada for 3 years.

Anyways, the people with 3g iPhones. Do you guys all have data plans? I am surrounded by wifi so I am not sure if I need the data plan, do you guys suggest it?

Another thing, is the 3g iPhone unlockable yet? I would want to use it in China/HK

I have the data plan and it ROCKS. My internet at home went down these past few days and having it on my phone is a godsend :)

I'm trying to jailbreak mine but it says fan not find some file on the first step I'm using OSx and the pam software

Is there anyway of locking it so ur phone does not accidentally go on to data roaming. This is ridiculous the phone keeps using 3g and it says I've used 7.7mbs already. Sometimes it'll show up as connected on Wi-Fi, but then still use 3g. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Call Rogers and have them do a data block on your account.

Called in the second day after I got the phone, the operator said that apple locked the iPhone so it's not possible. Told me that if I wasn't satisfied with the phone, I could give it back for a full refund within 2 weeks. Do you care to explain further on how to block the data from my account? Thanks.

Call them and tell them to do a data block on your account to prevent any data charges. I did that the first day I got my iPhone last year and it worked.

The operator is a dumb lying sack of shit. Apple locking the iPhone has nothing to do with data charges being incurred on your Roger's account.

Damn it I just ordered mine yesterday. :eek:

Rogers' 3G network is rated at around 3.6mbps.

Most average home connections top out at around 2-3mbps.

I've found that in real life, both are around the same (for my home connection and 3G around town).
