invisible shield FTW!! |
ok I got the invsible shield in the mail today. Just the back piece for the 3G. Wat $18 usd + shipping whoever wants it for $20 cdn can pick it up in Richmond TODAY only as I'm leaving to Miami for month on Sunday. PM me ur numbers |
You guys all got invisible shields when Best Skins Ever has a skin that's exactly the same but for less than half the price. IS ftl |
also check these guys out.... they skins for the rear of your iphone/ipod/laptop/psp with really cool designs. they also have screen protectors for them too. http://gelaskins.com/ i have one of these skins on my laptop but i am using a paul frank silicone case on my iphone with nothing protecting the screen. the screen is glass and i have no fear of it getting scratched. i have had my iphone for a year and do not have any noticeable scratches, plus im not too keen on the look of stick on screen protectors, but thats just me. take a look at my case... http://macgirl.net/reviews/reviews/p...s/page22_4.jpg |
^ how much more thick does it make it? |
where'd you get that case?! its silicone right? |
yep its silicone, its just over 1mm thick so it adds that much all around. sometimes i hate it because it adds to the dimensions and takes away from the beauty of the iphone design... but other times i love it, it protects the back of my iphone from getting scratched (even more) and it dampens impact when i throw it around (its just a phone right?). i got this case from the apple store in seattle a while back before the vancouver one opened. i have a 1st gen iphone btw, and this case is for that model, paul frank hasnt made a silicone case for the new 3g iphone yet. you can get another brand though, i recommend iskins, they are the original maker of silicone ipod/iphone cases and make top notch stuff. way better than that night market crap, but then again $2 vs $30 is a big difference. check them out... http://www.iskin.com/ |
i really like how the 3g is more curved around the sides compared to the first iphone it makes it easier to hold! better ergonomics ftw! |
The best tip for installing the invisibleshield is OVERSPRAYING...use as much spray as you can. The water will take out the air bubbles with it.... http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/how-to/...stall-contest/ |

^ agreed, i find that 3g is damn fast |
GPRS sucks balls EDGE is damn slow 3G/HSDPA is damn fast WiFi is fast as lightning im happy to have a data plan on my 1st gen iphone but am really feeling the sluggishness of EDGE. im wishing to ugprade to a 3G iphone but dont want to buy into a 3yr contract. in the end i might but im going to wait for the next iphone hardware revision. |
^ i used the data on the 1st gen iphone and the speed was a night and day difference maybe you should consider switching bro |
anyone got info on an unlocker for the 3g iphone yet? like the subject says. im looking for an unlock for the 3g iphone |
You can't yet... except SIM unlock. But even that has glitches right now. |
edge is slow when compared to 3g but its still faster than my old hiptop/sidekick 2. im not in a rush to upgrade so i will just wait for the next hardware revision of the 3g iphone (hopefully with 32gb of storage and without plastic cracking issues), also i would like to get another year out of my 1st gen iphone. |
^ to be honest, i think the plastic cracking is blown out of proportion... i know a few people with it that have no issues with the iphone cracking |
so who downloaded the update? |
Does anyone know how I can sycn my Rainlendar calendar for the iPhone and also my contact lists? I am using hotmail but just made a gmail account and im clueless. Thanks! |

Any Fido CSRs that want to help me get a 3G when I get home later this month? I'm an existing Fido customer...have been for like 10 years now. |
I called Fido twice to see if it was possible to buy an iPhone on a 2-year agreement, both times they said I must get it on a 3 year. Then I asked if I sign up with the 3-year, can they give me like a 3$ credit towards the SAF (like 40% off basically) and they said no. Am I asking for too much here? Or are they lying to me, I know the first guy, I asked to speak with the retentions/customer relations dept, and he said they don't have one. LOL And I was like I've talked to them before, and that's how I got the plan I have now, and he didn't talk for like 1 minute. |
I think you MUST pay the SAF and sign a 3 year contract. But those CSR guys are fucking idiots. I have a $10 discount on my plan through retentions and I 2/6 reps told me I can keep the discount as it has nothing to do with the iPhone, just my plan. The other 4 reps told me that my discount would be void but the last rep I talked to told me I would still get it. If my discount is void, I will bitch so hard. Having a discount on my plan has nothing to do with the iPhone. I can sign a 3 year contract, pay the SAF, and use a $20 plan or a $100 plan. It makes no difference WHAT plan I use, so my discount on my plan should make no difference to the iPhone. One rep told me that Apple has strict restrictions but that is bullshit. Apple has restriction meaning that you must be on a 3 year contract and (I dont know 100%) you must pay SAF. But having a discount on a plan or not has nothing to do with Apple but with Fido. Those fucking idiots. |
discounts are something completely different... there are two types of discounts... ones that expire when you renew and ones that don't... a lot of reps on the phone get mixed up between the two.. |
So which one do I have? I got a $10 credit because I called retention saying I wanted to cancel my plan. I was not on a contract and then I signed a 2 year contract to get $10 credit + SAF credit. That was 2 months ago. Then I called again to get the iPhone and they told me I had to pay SAF which is not a problem, but some reps tell me I can keep my $10 credit and some cant. I had to renew a 3 year contract, so basically extend from 2 years to 3. |
