at&t's contract is going to be something like 40$ for talk and 30$ for data and then a 10$ monthly fee for having the phone as thats why the beginning pricing is low.. so you pay an extra 240$ over two years or even 360$ here as they're going to be locked into a three year term. and the phone does have a new battery but the talk time is still HALF of the 2g version, 3g is rated at 5 hours, a bit better than the average of 3.5. OG iphone>3g unless data rates drop dramatically as my 30$/month plan as almost everywhere i go has a hotspot i can use:P |
i dont even care if everyone is going to have it. Its going to be fucking dope $300 bucks for a 16gb iphone thats better than the old one. WHY THE FUCK NOT? haha |

No kidding. :p |
Apple does have a great marketing scheme. They make every one think its the best phone ever... Even though the camra is ok, no native video recording, no picture and video msging, and a few others. The only great thing is its syncability (spell that right? Lol?), and the full Internet. Of course that's my 2 cents. As some of you may know, fido has the new deal out where you can pay $7 a month for unlimited data surfing on a fido 3g phone... Now since iPhone2 comes out in a month, will that deal be available for the classic iPhone users? I asked them today and they told me that it could be added to my account and used, but since the iPhone uses raw data, I could end up with a maaaassive bill. |
hmmm.. maybe u guys shouldn't think of the iphone 2 as an iphone 2 but rather think of it as.. iphone is finally getting released in canada... at a lower price.. 2.0 camera does suck.. but u gotta understand it from a UI and developer's POV... if they stick in a 5.0 mp camera... the 3G connection is fast.. but uploading photos through mobile me or anything like emails will still take a long time.. i think that may be the reason they're still sticking around with the 2.0 camera |
...and no auto-focus. Pretty clear I think: it doesn't use a lot of power, hence, greater battery life. Then again you don't always have the camera turned on, but who knows. |
oh, other question. When iPhone2 comes out, will I still have to use use my stealth sim, or can I take it out and just have my sim card? That is a great point about the camra actuall, I never thought about that. I think a good compromise would have been a toggle between picture quality. If your looking for ok quality to send off to a buddy, use the 2.0mp quality... but if you want better qualify for when you load it up to your computer, you can jack the resolution up to 5mp. |
You are still using Stealth sim? No, you wont need Stealth sim with iPhone 2.0. |
lol... stealth sim... I haven't had to use that since getting my iphone like a month ago |
im loving the new style and color |
i still think it's over hyped.... i had like.. 10 customers coming back to my store today returning their phones to wait for an iphone.... and i was like.. do u even know how much the plan is going to be?.. they don't seem like they care at the moment.. |

fido...... |
Since you work at fido have you had the inside scoop on how much the plans are going to be? |

You should show your customers this: http://gizmodo.com/5015540/iphone-3g...price-compared |
i saw this.. but i htink they're so into the hype and apple marketing that they'd just ignore me and think of it as an investment (O____O)"....... |
what i mean is.. no matter if it's good or bad.. they probably won't listen... they're all just waiting for july 11th... and the other problem... it's rogers & fido... i'm feeling that price plan including voice is going to equal about 110 a month with taxes included.... |

Have you read the comments from the internet article? Yeah the graph shows that it will cost more, but from all the people actually paying the bill, it's no where even close.. |
For now, im sticking with my classic iPhone. yes the 3G network is almost 3x as fast, but how often do i have to download a massive PDF that I need that minute? Absolutely never. My original iphone with firmware 2.0 and the plan I have now will suit me just fine... Although I did sign up a few months too early :P. The new unlimited call plans and data plans are way better then the one I set up about 8 months. |
