there are a couple ways i know of:

1. craigslist
2. buy the phone on a 3 year deal, then cancel the contract and pay the penalty. you'd probably be on the hook for a minimum of $650 plus taxes this way.

Exactly right. The iPhone can only be bought on a three-year contract (in the States it can only be bought on a two-year contract). There are unlocked ones available online, but expect to pay ~$1000.

Easiest way to get an iPhone is to find a gently used first-gen phone off eBay or Craig's List. Lots available.

just got universal sim unlock from ebay for 20buck and it work test it with Fido using rogers Iphone income and outcome but didnt test 3G becasue i dont have data plan for fido. has anyone try to use unluck sim with 3G data?

how does intelliscreen work?

i'm installing with cydia right now and it says "YOU MUST DOWNLOAD A TRIAL LICENSE (OR PAID LICENSE) before Intelliscreen will display.

you need to download the trial version from cydia then go google for intelliscreen app hack or pay for the license fee

It's a cool program but it disables the ability to dial out on the keypad, check recents, voicemail etc. that whole menu freezes. And when you receive a call you cannot end it. The other party has to end it lol

anyone experiencing problems with apps that they've downloaded via itunes? i was playing around with my lonely planet vietnamese the other day and then went back to the main menu and now none of my itunes app work, free or not..anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Anyone know where I can download the classic cellphone ringtone? I don't want a music ringtone and the ones on the iPhone suck, including that marimba one or whatever it is called.

i get an incoming call. starts off with +1 604. i go to call the number back and it wont allow it because of the +1 i assume.

how the fuck do i turn that off?

All my numbers are +1 (604) XXX-XXXX or +1 (778) XXX-XXXX. I have no problems

i'm wondering if it matter which carrier... because on my telus blackberry it isn't an issue.

Im on Fido, but my network is 100% always on Rogers. I have not seen a Fido network on any of my phones since they have merged. Im using the old city fido plan, so maybe that's the reason.

Anyways, having +1604 should not affect anything. It's just the country code. I have never heard of this problem on any phones.

i just called rogers tech support and the chick told me all rogers phones do it, there's no way around it and to return the call, you actually have to manually re dial the number without the +1. i told her that was the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard and that i didn't believe her. now i'm on hold waiting for some expert from the programming department.


update: bitch got pwnd by the expert. he removed something from my account and now it works fine on the redial with the +1. i was all "well whaddaya think of THAT, hunny?" and she's like "i'm going to get them to fix my phone, because i have the same problem"
