apple products have been known to be prone to scratches. there was almost a recall on nanos when they first came out because of all the complaints. even if u put it in your pocket w/o anything else in there, eventually you'd still end up w/ scratches from the dirt in ur pocket. |
Does anyone have a problem with lag? my friend and I both experience the same problems.. It most often happens when you are replying to a text. You can type faster than it actually appears. This only happens once in a while but its friggin' annoying lol. Another problem. My phone does not send SMS to multiple recipients. I select 2 recipients and i send the text but they never receive it. I dunno whyyy? |
Did anyone else receive a text msg from fido/rogers when you asked to disable the internet access? It seemed to come with some kinda install update but I accidentally shutdown the phone so I don't know what it does or if it's necessary... |
Also, does anyone know other ways to disable the internet besides calling customer service?? |
2.1 software is now out. Check your updates in iTunes if you want to update. |

i did the update this morning, but i was running late for an appointment and just before it was finished, so the phone will be docked all day. judging by the list of "improvements" listed before confirming the upgrade, it's going to solve a lot of the problems people are posting here (text msg speed, app integration from itunes, contact lag, battery life, reception, 3G connection etc). |

Ok listen up for you guys who are questioning about jailbroke phones: First, you can upgrade your JB iPhones to the new 2.1 firmware. By upgrading, YOU WILL LOSE YOUR JAILBREAK meaning that all your 3rd party apps, cydia, installer, will be GONE. It will be as if you never jailbroke your phone. You can upgrade directly without having to restore or anything, just do the upgrade through iTunes. Sorry, I am unclear of how iTunes upgrading works since I never upgrade through it, but from what I understand, you can just click a few buttons, wait a bit and done. If you upgrade through iTunes, your baseband will be upgraded. There is a possibility that if/when an unlock is available, you might not be able to unlock your 3g iPhone. They said this with 1.1.3 on the 2g iPhone, but still, people were able to unlock on 1.1.4. Take it as you wish, but just a warning to those who might want to unlock in the future. Personally, I do not upgrade through iTunes just incase an unlock can come out in the future. If you have previously upgraded through iTunes, then do not worry, because your baseband has already been updated so you can continue to use iTunes to update. There is currently NO jailbreak yet for 2.1 firmware. So if you update, you wont be able to jailbreak it until it comes out. I am waiting until Winpwn comes out with a jailbreak for 2.1 then I will update through that. |
Thanks for clarifying things RFlush, Do you use a program to update the firmware of the iPhone without iTunes? My laptop recently fried and is being fixed under warranty, so I don't want to install iTunes on another computer since I only have like 2 of 5 permission things left on my account, and I would need to install it back on my laptop when I get it back. Thanks |
Yes I use Winpwn to jailbreak my iPhone. This makes it so I never, ever, use the original iPhone firmware when upgrading. What winpwn does, it makes a customized firmware BEFORE you apply it to your iPhone. Unfortunately, they take approximately 1 week or longer to get their new version out to jailbreak, so until then, I am rolling on 2.0.2 firmware. |
Is there any good GPS software/apps for the iphone that doesn't require data or wifi? I'd like to be able to look up addresses on the go Thanks |
Hey guys, I'm thinking about getting the iphone, I was wondering... how's the texting capability on this thing? I have pretty big and stubby fingers, so I'm worried about pressing the wrong keys.. i text alot by the way..! I tried texting with the ipod touch, they seem to have an auto-correct feature which i thought was pretty cool, do they have that for the iphone? thanks! |

I still suck at typing on that thing lol, I try to text really fast, but I make so many mistakes ahaha, the auto correct feature helps A LOT though. :haha: |
Can some of you iphone owners give me the rundown on the pros and cons of owning this phone? Thanks! |

apple store, rogers wireless location, craigslist |
Hey guys, I was talking to people from the Fido CSR today and they said that unless I subscribe to a data plan the iphone wouldn't have a "clock" feature, is this true? |
