thought so. It makes it so useless and unproductive. To me, this is why the blackberry is just as good as the iPhone. I guess you can't have the best from both worlds (iPhone, internet, media; berry, business use, internal functions)

The software is WAY faster and texting is as it should have been.

my safari crashes every minute or two... really fuckin annoying

I'd be careful, after a week of usage, 2.1 got really laggy and safari started crashing a lot ONLY after I quickpwned it. SO I just restored back to original 2.1....but it still doesn't seem as fast.

yea i updated to 2.1 and pwnagetooled it.... i didnt feel there's much of a difference... maybe even a bit slower...

aight just got my iphone and i jailbroke it. version 2.1 quickpwn. any crazy downloads you guys recommend?

To be more clear, 2.1 was a LOT faster when I just upgraded it and ran it for a week. It's when i used quickpwn did it start slowing down.

If you jailbreak your phone, you can download and install 3rd party software from installer and cydia. You would no longer be limited to just the app store. However, this doesn't allow you to download all apps from the app store for free.

so my friend did a jailbreak on his 3g iphone(originally fido locked) and then he tried doing something else, im not quite sure what but now it says "no sim card installed"

so he gave it to me to try to figure it out. so far i've tried to put it back to an older firmware and that didnt work so i installed the newest one.

after no luck with any of that i brought it to the apple store downtown and they did the same thing. they ended up telling me that i needed to get a new sim card but i dont think thats the case because i used this one on the phone before and it worked fine??

anyone else have this issue? i've done a bunch of searches on the internet and i haven't found much.

i have found a lot of people with the same problem but with not many useful solutions. i've also brought the phone to fido and they told me they can't do anything there but to bring it to the apple store.. which i've done already

my iPhone is still on 1.0.2 or smth like 1 of the 1st fw. should i update? hahaha

hmm the thing is i never used a virgin iphone... all the iphones i had were jb the very instance i got home... i just cant stand the oem theme...

I tried to search the forum for an answer for my problem but nothing came up. I'm currently on v.2.0.1 and have quite a few apps that are from the apps store. I went to the app store and it stated that I have 9 updates available for the apps installed. Naturally I chose to update them as that's what I normally do. Instead of installing correctly, the message said "You have to have version 2.1 in order to download this app" or something to that effect. Okay so fine, all 9 of the updates said that so I thought nothing of it. It's been over an hour and a half now and it's still not finished doing it's thing. It looks like it's stuck updating and each of them say it's "loading" and the little circle by the wifi signal keeps turning but nothing. The phone function itself and all the other apps work fine but it's driving me nuts as I don't know why the phone isn't completing itself properly this time I don't want to try resetting the phone as I've tried doing that before when I first got the phone when it was updating and it messed it up good. Anyone experience this problem, or is it just me? Help!

I had that happen to me when I was on 2.0. I just did a hard reset (power + home button) and reinstalled the program.

Not sure if this has any effect on it but I try to reboot my phone at least once a day

its spotlight for the iphone, get it for the search contact, being able to search and launch apps is a bonus :)

Have you guys heard of this app..

It allows you to call a friend but on his caller ID, it appears not your caller ID, but of someone elses on his or her contact list. Like the person can choose from the receivers contact list whose name will appear on the caller ID, and not only that, they can choose to select a male or female voice bug to alter your true voice.

My friend did this to me for a few days. I started getting really pissed off lol. I didn't know what the hell was happening, I thought that my phone had be hacked somehow and some dude was after me. He knew who I was and what I was doing usually. He sounded like a stalker. But it was one of my friends.. Man I got punk'd hardcore.

I will find out the name of the app tomorrow..

I had that app on my phone but I deleted it because it onyl gave you like 5 minutes and you had to buy additional time :gay: It's called SpoofApp and you can get it from Cydia

what version are you on now ch28? i'm afraid to do a hard reset because the last time i did that when the phone was updating, i had to really fiddle with it (turning it on and off quite a few times) before it booted up past the pwned apple logo and i vowed to never do that again.

i always try to keep my apps up to date and reboot too but not everyday. 9 of the damn apps from the app store are causing me this headache, argh.

i hate bothering my friend to reflash the thing, such a burdon on him.

I used that guide and everything was up and running without any problems. Just follow that guide and you'll be fine. It has links for all the necessary files + screenshots on what you need to do :thumbsup: and YES it's worth it to update. 2.1 is way faster compared to the previous 2.0x firmwares
