^ Maps would have to connect at least once to actually physically download the map, but who knows when u go places u dont have a map downloaded for?

is there any way to turn off the camera shutter sound? :/

if you are jb, snapture 2.1 will do it it also have some photo functions you can tinker around with.

ok thats a deal breaker there. i would lose all my game saves and have to reenter datas > < i guess i will stick to d/ling thru desktop less trouble this way

Updating Apps Directly on the iPhone and also downloading apps from the iPhone into iTunes

1.) I'm unable to update apps directly on my iPhone. It gives me an error message when I try to do it. It'll start downloading the new version, but once its done the error message pops up. BUT, if I delete the program, and then download the new version it'll work (but that is highly annoying).


2.) I have 30+ new apps on my iPhone. When I sync the phone to iTunes, it doesn't sync the new apps I have ...


Anyone know whats up??

Is it worthwhile to jailbreak the 3G iphone?
I am with Rogers and I have a great phone+data plan atm.....I like being able to update the iphone legitlly without any problems or have any apps crashing on me....

if you like what its doing for you, why mess with it? i havent done anything to my iphone and i'm perfectly happy with it.

i might download that dyno app though... looks kinda fun.

okay, i accidently upadated my iphone 3G to the newest firmware, should i still jailbreak it? or thats a bad idea? thanks

I only listed missing phone functions than jailbreak will enable. These functions should be on every smartphone yet Apple didn't implement it. JB will also unable other functions not mention here but these are what i think addresses most complains with the iphone.


As for problems after jailbreaking? you can go techy and try to fix it thru SSH
or
you can do what owners of unjailbroken phones do when they encounter an unfixable problem:

-Restore.


I have no encounter software problems on the 3g either jb or non jb than cannot be fix with a proper restore.

I hope this stops all the jb or not jb questions

so whats the deal with Data roaming?

im asuming the 3G network is not available throughout canada within your data plan?

I was up at my cabin near Kamloops and turned everything off, what are the charges like for using the 3G network in a place like that?

Install Bosspref and turn off both edge and 3g, i don't remember if you can turn off gprs too but if you can turn it off and just leave wifi on.

No gurantees all your data will be block with the method so the best way is to get fido to block it
