guys be careful of the haunted app on app store. Its just like one of those cheesy scary image jumps out to scare you kind of thing.

nevermind some of them work, but yea i downloaded my apps from appshare then it installs with installous. When i try to open it, the front sceen shows the game, then after a few seconds it goes back to the home. So it crashes. Damn i wanna play monkey ball! :(

You can jailbreak 2.1...I think they meant you can't unlock the phone? (can that be done or do you still have to use those SIM adapters?) I don't have an iPhone so I don't know that part, but I know the Touch has 2.1 with Jailbreak (So I assume iPhone is the same)

Problem - so my iphone mysteriously drops calls within 2 sec into the call. like someone calls me and i call someone and say "HI", and the screen shows call failed. it happened once and i thought it was the network, but it happened the 2ns time last night, and i restarted the phone and it's fine, so it led me to believe its my phone and not the network. is there any solutions to this? or should i bring it to apple for an exchange?

i've had the same thing happen. the chick who sold me the phone at rogers told me to turn off the phone, and then hold the home key and the power key for six seconds, then the problem will go away. it did, but about a week later it happened again, i did the same thing and it hasnt happened since. it's been about a month now.

I'm assuming it's jailbroken? Is this your first app you've tried installing?

You have to use the "special" mobileinstallation file, and change the directory permissions. Then load one app from the iTunes store (pick a free one). Then the rest of your apps should work. If none of this sounds familiar to you, then you probably haven't got your iPod set up correctly to install apps. :) (I've never used appshare and installous, but I'm going on the assumption that the preliminary work is the same)

just got my Fido iphone but i am using turboSIM + rogers SIM,
now i am encountering a problem is that I cannot sync with itunes if the TurboSIM+ rogers SIM in it.. i have to take it out and sync if the phone shows "NO Sim" ..
is that normal?
i am using Itunes 8.01 + iphone 3g 2.1

yea its jailbroken, i have free apps from itunes on my phone but it still crashes

umm but resetting the phone is just a temp solution and not a permanent fix... this is getting annoying and i want it permanently fixed.

well, it hasnt happened since... until it happens again, im going to go ahead and assume its permanent.

Yey, just jailbroke my 3g 2.1 using QuickPwn2.1 . What are some must have, or cool apps for Cydia? I know about Bossprefs and Winterboard for sure, but if you guys have any others that are awesome, post up :D
