nope our batteires arent like normal batteries where you need to drain it first, you can charge right away and as many times as you'd like

:lol rogers jacked up the Iphone essentials data plan from $30 to $35 and the only difference is instead of 10,000 text messages you get unlimited. Anyone use 10,000 texts a month ?

Quick question. Does anyone know the price to buy the Iphone 3g at Rogers without a contract? So basically just buying the phone straight up. (sidenote: I'm already on a Rogers contract, but I just want the phone because I still have 2.2 years left.)

i can get you the iphone 8gb 3G for $500

BlackZRoadster 01-30-2009 01:47 AM

I want to jailbreak my iphone.
I had my iphone jailbroken for firmware 2.0, but upgraded to 2.1 because I wanted to cruise the streets of google maps ~*~*~*~*~
Little did I know, the phone's baseband was updated with this firmware update.

Im only hesitant because I heard you can NEVER unlock you're phone in the future because of this if you jailbreak 2.1?

Im confused. Can someone clear this up? Thank youuuuuuuu

You're believing incorrect information. 2.2 firmware is completely unlockable. You will need to use yellowsn0w via Cydia once you jailbreak. Follow the guide here: http://www.iphoneincanada.ca/3rd-par...rks-this-time/

J-force 01-30-2009 03:39 PM

So, if I do jailbreak my 2.1 firmware, I can still unlock it with yellowsn0w?
I just didn't want to eliminate the chance of me never being able to unlock my phone, because I was too impatient for quickpwn's dev team to work their magic.

Dude, did you read the blog post? It answers all your questions. ;)

yellowsn0w REQUIRES 2.2 firmware...you will need to update to 2.2.

kay, thanks :)

anyone wanna give me a general example on what you'd have to be doing on your iphone to achieve 500MB of data?

Harvey Specter 02-01-2009 01:24 AM

I have a question about the warranty....I have a blown speaker on my 3g, no idea how it happen. My phone is still under warranty but I read on fido.ca that you have to call them and they'll ship out a new phone, how long does it usually take? I really need to get the phone replaced because i have no ringer.

Seek Help from Iphone Gurus...

Hey guys,

So I purchased a Iphone 3G last week. And today, I went back to Rogers to seek questions. The Rep told me that Version 2.2.1 is now available, its suppose to fix bugs and problems, so AS A NEWBIE, I agree yes.

Now that I try to download FREE GAMES from APPLE STORE, it now says to enter your password (as usual) but all of a sudden a window pops up and says: "Your account is only valid for purchases in the Canadian ITUNES Store."

What do I do now? The game wont load/install.

But I remember the old version was much more easier to install.

Can anyone help me bypass this or should I retrieve my old version back?

Thanks!!

Senna4ever 02-01-2009 11:31 PM

You need to set your region to Canada in iTunes on your computer.

HondaGuy 02-02-2009 01:05 AM

^^ So I go to iTunes on my computer and where do I change the Canada?

Also, why does it have this window now? I should have been in Canada since first day of purchase, does this have anything to do with updating to Version 2.2.1???

So confused, harsh a newb!!! LOL...

Hondaracer 02-02-2009 04:23 PM

^ did u ever create an account?

at some point you should have made an account where u needed to input a credit card, at that point i would asume that is when u set your region

HondaGuy 02-03-2009 12:17 AM

Ok, so I finally fixed the problem.

Apparently, yes, the phone is synced to my PC and my info account.
When the Rogers Rep. took my phone to download version 2.2.1 on his companys PC...for some reason, my phone started to go haywire.
I'm guessing it synced with his PC. Somehow it made my phone into non-Canada mode, if that makes sense. LOL...

I talked to Rogers Rep in Richmond, visited iApple store in PC, and spent 20 mins on the 1-800 number at home, and finally resolved by syncing (sp) back to my PC again.

Whew...glad to get one thing on my back.
No choice, I'm a complete noob with computer issues...

Anyways, Thanks to Senna4ever and HondaRacer for the reply.

Anyone know if the iPhone can use mp3 as ringtones or change any type of ringtones for that matter?

Ikkaku 02-04-2009 12:30 PM

I know for my 2G that's still on 1.1.4 you can use mp3's however you'd still need to convert them.

What I do is use itunes to convert the file to aac format or whatever, and it'll be converted to a m4t format. I just change it to m4r and SSH it to my phone and it works on there.
