no, 2.2.1 is the latest.

you should be able to put 2.2 back and then unlock it. But have to get into restore mode from the phone then select firmware 2.2 and flash it instead on 2.2.1

How much data do you typically use on your iPhone?

I'm considering getting the $30 data plan for 1GB per month usage. Is that enough for surfing on websites and listening to online radio? I'll rarely use youtube.

Im pretty sure that the baseband is irreversible. You can always downgrade to 2.2 from 2.2.1 but your baseband will still be on 02.30.03 and yellowsn0w will not work with that.

the new essentials data plan is the same but costs $5 more but you get unlimited texts. I'm only browsing craigslist or ebay when I'm not on wifi so I barely use data. 500mb is more then enough for me.

i have the 6gb $30 plan and i only use a few hundred mbs per month, some months i barley use 100mb. i only use data for a few apps and google maps, web browsing, email (3x imap accts), and the occasional youtube video (uses about 1mb per minute).

I used 200mb when I had the iPhone.
Now I'm doing 130 with my Bold...

1GB should suffice for whatever device it is.

no you can't. Baseband will not downgrade if you flash back to 2.2 . It will still be using the baseband from 2.2.1 and thus can't be unlocked.

Call Apple, they're easier to deal with than Rogers/Fido.
