Two mornings in a row now my iphone shows full bars, but neither can recieve or make calls, got aware of this problem because I showed up to work who said they called me not to come in, tried to make a call and couldnt. The problem seems to be fixed by turning it off and turning it back on...is there a reason for this? Or do I just gotta turn my phone off and on before I can use it T.T Its frustrating because it looks like its working...and I could miss important calls without knowing it.

^ happened me once- missed some important calls. when it happens u don't receive calls or txt and you cant call out i think. it only happened once and i hope it don't happen again. if i remember correctly it happened after i charged the phone...

yeah cant txt either! I dunno for me my gf usually calls me around midnight and I get the call no problem, the next day I wake up and try to make a call and it just hangs...and no one can call me either, everyday that i wake up in the afternoon im worried I missed some interview calls :cry:

anyone who's gotten a replacement iphone for dust behind the screen etc. do they give you a whole new box with everything or just the phone?

I've personally never had to replace my phone, but from what I've read on forums, watched on youtube, and friends they've all said that its just a phone replacement.

At the Apple store you're just given a phone that's been refurbished. Not a brand new one with the wrapper still on.

IMO although your phone has dust behind it, if it was me I'd rather keep that than have a refurbished phone. You never know what could go wrong since its not a brand new one.

well im gonna go to my appointment with them and see i guess, although if anything goes wrong with the refurb you will just get another one anyways so i guess it's a trade off

there isnt even that much dust behind my screen but i think a couple weeks ago when i dropped it it loosend up the screen enough for dust to get by, because before that i worked in a super dusty enviroment and never got dust behind it, but right after i dropped it it did.

Hey so i got a 2nd iphone today off a buddy, its Jailbroken but it's locked out completely, all it gives me the option to do is slide for an emergency call, on the top it says "Iphone is disabled Connect to itunes"

when i connect it to itunes it comes up and says "itunes could not connect the iphone "iphone" because it's locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iphone before it can be used with itunes"

i have no idea what the password is and it doesnt even give me that option, only emergency call

I tried jailbreaking it again, using an older version of quickpwn and the 2.21 firmware but it didnt work and when it reset its just back to the same thing

How can i reset it completely?

Download whatever iPhone firmware (ex. 2.2.1) There's lots of sites to find it from.

Do this at your own risk and I am not responsible for any mistakes. For a windows computer you do this.

Connect your iPhone to the computer. Open iTunes and put your phone in DFU mode. (Hold both home button and power at the same time for 10 seconds, let go of the power button and keep holding the home button for another 12 seconds.) Then it should say that your phone is in recovery mode on iTunes.

Then you press and hold shift on your keyboard and click the restore button and it'll open up a box and you choose your iPhone firmware. After you choose you're set and just wait till it finishes restoring your phone.

Yea that's what I did put it into dfu mode then did a restore, worked great

And my minty new iPhone I got for my dusty one yesterday is perfect as well, feels so nice lol

^^it is nice isnt it. my replacement phone is all scratched to hell already lol. the chrome bezel anyways, its all dull.

oh yea, even the feel of the screen is great, so much friction again lol and the home button actually "clicks" lol

3g iphone, is it actually worth it? i keep hearing stories about build quality and other issues. my 2g iphone has treated me good, but once 3.0 comes out, mms wont be available on it. having 3G and gps would be nice, but the build quality is a huge issue for me. opinions?

If you really want a new iPhone, you might as well wait until WWDC is done with. (Its in early June)
